The Arizona town of Greer's largest tourism business closed its doors Monday, the White Mountain Independent reported on its website.
The closing of the historic Greer Lodge & Resorts and its various businesses, including the 373 Grill and Red Setter Inn, left more than 100 people out of work, the newspaper reported.
The lodge in the White Mountains, a popular getaway from the summer heat for residents of Phoenix and Tucson, was established in 1948. It was about 240 miles northeast of Tucson.
A $2 million arson fire ripped through its main building in May 2011, but the resort's cabins continued to accommodate guests.
The current owner, Doug Sandahl, bought the lodge in 2004 and expanded the property, which ended up with 50 rental cabins, the newspaper said.
The Greer Lodge website, greerlodgeaz.com/, says that customers with pending reservations may download a "request for refund" form.
