Movie Gallery Inc., owner of the Hollywood Video chain, is closing three of its remaining Tucson stores.
Only the Movie Gallery at 7850 N. Silverbell Road will remain open, according to Hollywood Video’s Web site. The chain is shuttering stores at 5590 E. 22nd St., 2590 S. Kolb Road and 3901 E. Grant Road, the Web site says.
The store closures are part of Movie Gallery Inc.’s restructuring after the Wilsonville, Ore.,-based company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Tuesday. Nationwide, the company is closing 760 of its Movie Gallery, Hollywood Video and Game Crazy stores.
“We are closing these because they are not profitable and because funds from liquidating them can help us moving forward,” the company said in an announcement regarding the bankruptcy.
