Tucson’s average gas price has fallen below $2 as plummeting crude-oil prices continue to depress fuel prices.
The average price of regular gas in Tucson on Friday was $1.97 per gallon, down 6 cents in a week, according to AAA Arizona.
The average price of gas in Arizona dropped about 8 cents in a week to $2.07 per gallon on Friday, while nationwide, the average price slid about 6 cents to $2.17.
Five of nine Arizona metro regions AAA monitors now have average gas prices of less than $2 a gallon, AAA noted.
The East Valley area had the state’s lowest average price on Friday at $1.94 per gallon, while Flagstaff had the highest at $2.48, according to AAA.
