Shoppers who just can’t stay off the Internet can surf while they shop at Park Place Mall, which is offering free wireless Internet access.
The mall’s two main Wi-Fi “hotspots,” or access points, are at Center Court — home to Santa Claus and his helpers — and the mall’s food court. No password is needed to use the service, which launched the day before Thanksgiving.
Park Place is providing the service in partnership with Simply Bits, a major regional provider of wireless network services, the mall said.
Park Place, which allows connection times of up to four hours, is the only indoor mall in Tucson to offer free Wi-Fi, according to General Growth Properties, owner of Park Place and Tucson Mall.
Elsewhere, the Barnes & Noble store at Foothills Mall offers free Wi-Fi.
