Benihana of Tucson, the teppanyaki grill at 6091 N. Oracle Road, has closed.
A message on the restaurant’s phone simply says it has closed and thanks its customers for their patronage.
The South Florida Business Journal had reported last month that Benihana, suffering losses in its recent quarter, was considering closing three of its 88 restaurants, including the one in Tucson.
On Wednesday, the company’s Web site listed only the Tucson location and one in Lo Barnechea, Chile as “closed.”
The Florida-based company’s main telephone line had a message that said its mailbox was full.
