Gasoline prices around Arizona are up 14 cents from last week, the highest one-week increase since May 2008.
AAA Arizona's survey showed today that the average price around the state for regular is $3.39 a gallon at the pumps this week. That's 73 cents higher than this time last year.
This week's national average is $3.42 per gallon, up nearly 20 cents from last week.
Analysts say the spike comes from growing fears of supply disruption from crude oil producing areas of the Middle East.
Tucson has the lowest average gasoline price in Arizona at $3.22 a gallon while Yuma has the highest price at $3.50.
Wyoming has the lowest average price in the continental U.S. at $3.11 a gallon and California the highest at $3.81 a gallon.
