A Connecticut company has leased space at Tucson-based The Offshore Group's Guaymas, Sonora, industrial park.
Horst Engineering and Manufacturing Co. of East Hartford will establish a new manufacturing facility in 18,326 square feet of industrial space at Offshore's Roca Fuerte Industrial Park. Horst produces precision-machined aerospace and medical components.
The company said in a statement that it will also increase its recruiting in Connecticut to add manufacturing employees in anticipation of growth in the aerospace and medical products industries.
When fully staffed, Horst Engineering de Mexico will employ about 50 people at the Guaymas facility, which replaces a small engineering facility in Nogales, Sonora
The Offshore Group is the largest provider of outsourced manufacturing support, or "shelter," services in Mexico. The Tucson company was established in 1986.
