Tucson-based Raytheon Missile Systems said Tuesday that NetFires LLC, its joint venture with Lockheed Martin, completed the second successful guided test flight of the Raytheon-made Precision Attack Missile.
The missile is used with the Non Line-of-Sight-Launch System, or NLOS-LS — informally known as “missiles in a box” — a system of self-contained missiles and launch containers that can be adapted to various military platforms.
In the most recent test at White Sands Missile Range, N.M., a PAM missile launched from a container launch unit used its dual-mode seeker to score a direct hit against a stationary T-72 tank, Raytheon said.
