The ReCommunity Tucson plant is the city’s new “single-stream” recycling operation. The facility, completed in July and now fully operational, is able to process more recyclables, leading to less material in landfills.
The plant at 3780 E. Ajo Way can process 25 tons of newspapers, beverage cartons, steel, aluminum and glass per hour, according to ReCommunity, based in Charlotte, N.C.
