Southwest Airlines will add a second daily flight between Tucson and Chicago Midway Airport starting in January.
The airline's seasonal schedule adjustments, published Tuesday, adds flights in some markets, including Tucson, and cuts flights in far more markets with less demand.
The airline is cutting 12 daily flights from Baltimore, while adding 4, and eliminating 18 from Chicago as it adds the Tucson flight.
Southwest offers the most service of eight airlines at Tucson International Airport, where airlines generally have been cutting flights over the past year in response to fuel prices and the national economic recession.
