More Letters: Feb. 8

I am tired of people using the flag to express some political opinion they have. The flag should unite the country not be used as a political pawn. My opinion.

If Donald Trump is innocent of the Impeachment charges of "incitement of insurrection", he and his Lawyers would have absolutely no hesitancy in having him testify in his own defense before US Senate notwithstanding their claims that his Senate trial is "unconstitutional"; presenting evidence and facts that substantiate his claims of innocence. However, he and his Lawyers know that such do NOT exist...and he is guilty as charged of initiating the attack on the United States Congress by his supporters.

Further, Trump's "incitement of insurrection" is NOT protected free speech, Brandenburg v. Ohio, 395 US 444 - 1969, since his efforts were "....directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action.”

His supporters, at all levels of Government, have ignored the Welfare of our Country so as to maintain their Power and Privileged Positions in Government. They have destroyed themselves as Representatives in Our Constitutional Democracy and must be removed from office as well

I've been disabled since 2012, I can't afford cable or satilite TV. The local stations have been playing the same movies , like This, 48 hours, grit, bounce Quest and all the sister stations of our TV networks in our local TV viewing area. I know that this is free viewing, but really, really! How many times do you have to play mad Max, The Termanator, The good, the bad and the fugly. come on you can do better!!!

I saw portions of many, many of Trump's rallies on TV over a 5 year period. Trump's rally on Jan 6th. was the only one that I remember that had full height bullet proof glass in front of the stage. Is it possible that Trump, his family, Giuliani, et al suspected that there might be violence. Just wondering!

I’m already prejudiced against the zoo expansion. I abhor keeping animals in cages whether it’s chickens waiting to be slaughtered for wings or tigers ensnared in the desert. Decades ago, my mother took me to the zoo (not here) many Sunday afternoons. I enjoyed it since being a child who loved to be outside, it was preferable to home where my father was drinking far too much beer. So, the natural progression was that I would take my own children to the same zoo. But, at seven and eight years of age, a wonderful thing happened. They cried at seeing animals in captivity and refused to go. In their case, I guess the experience truly did prove an education. I’m glad it’s one they managed to teach themselves. Expansion or not, I hope many Tucson children who visit Reid Park zoo come to realize it's nothing more than pure and simple entertainment for their species at the expense of other (lesser, based on our behavior) ones.

I have a comment on getting shots for this virus, its 90 percent effective that means a 10 percent chance one can still get the virus. My question is would you play Russian roulett if you knew you had a 10 percent chance of killing yourself? So even with the shot we must still be careful.

I am a Voter in Virginia, but doing my best to follow progress on the examination of the presidential vote in Maricopa County. It is hard to get news because there is so much censorship on this issue. I pray that a full forensic audit of machines and ballots takes place, otherwise, what is the point? If 100% of ballots aren't examined, then auditors could easily miss 2% of ballots that could have been falsely adjudicated. Likewise with machines and software. I'll bet fewer than 10% of voters have any clue about the inner workings of the code that counts, tallies, and transmits voting results. Everyone can understand ballots filled in and counted by hand, but who knows the inside a computer program? Or worse, whether an outside trojan entered through an allowable internet or thumb-drive connection? Hiding this level of detail merely fuels speculation. America is watching.
