Don't have regrets. Get the picture. It's Christmas and you won't see those relatives again for a long time. Some tips to help make it happen:
1. Prepare your camera. For worry-free pictures, set your camera for auto white balance (AWB) and auto exposure. Outside? Keep the ISO set low for higher quality. Inside? Flash is almost always a good idea. The light emitted by the flash overpowers other light sources that give faces that multicolored look.
2. Prepare your mind. Anticipate little events. Move into place for the best view of the kids opening gifts before it happens. Watch the grandparents telling stories and be ready for the smiles and laughs.
3. Prepare to edit. Be tough on yourself. High-quality images — sharp focus, low ISO, good lighting and great moments — make great enlargements.
