Tucson Regional Ballet kicks off "Nutcracker" season with "A Southwest Nutcracker" at the Tucson Music Hall this weekend.
The ballet company, which has set the holiday favorite in 1880s Tucson, is breaking out a new and colorful backdrop for the opening party scene to coincide with the production's 15th anniversary.
"A Southwest Nutcracker" is one of six "Nutcrackers" opening in Tucson over the next month.
Performances are at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday.
