Cirque du Sin is one of Tucson's newer cabaret groups. Founded by Colores, who has performed with most of the groups in town, Cirque combines a little bit of everything: burlesque, comedy, live music — and fire.
• AKA Madame D
• Age: 32.
• Occupation: Real estate.
• About her background: "I grew up doing dance and ballet, so I think it was a natural progression. I was 5 when I started ballet, and I danced through college. I still take classes now and then. I think ballet helps me do choreography with group."
• How she started: "I started with Boys R Us, and then I was one of the founders of Drag Star Cabaret. I did a brief stint with Black Cherry Burlesque, and then I started Cirque du Sin. I get around."

• Why she gets around: "I'm always trying to evolve and push it. With this new group, I've incorporated more live singing. Then there's the fire aspect. We eat fire. We spin fire on staffs, or spin fans that are lit on fire. . . . Because of new fire codes, we have to do fire only outside now."
• About burlesque: "One of our members, who's done burlesque in San Francisco, told me our show is a truer form of burlesque, because burlesque is not just a woman taking off her clothes — it incorporates comedy and music. Our group is very true to an old-time vaudevillian thing. I think Whiskey Breath is like that, too. They incorporate a lot of different things into their show."
• About her act: "I've done striptease in electrical tape, just to see if I could do it. Actually it wasn't too painful. I think the biggest challenge was not sweating, because it made the goo go away. I had strategically placed pieces of tape that weren't supposed to come off. Some of the parts that weren't supposed to come off almost did. I came close to a wardrobe malfunction."
• About singing: "We have two or three singers. For the next show, one of them is going to sing Nina Simone's 'Feeling Good.' "
