Gloriana hits chart with 4-part harmonies

We caught up with the quartet's Cheyenne Kimball (mandolin, guitar, vocals) during a concert stop last week somewhere on the road. "I'm not sure where we are," she told us on a cell-phone call from the bus.

• Introducing: Gossin brothers Tom, 27, and Mike, 24, Rachel Reinert, 20, and the baby of the band, 18-year-old Cheyenne Kimball.

• On the radio: Debut single "Wild at Heart" is No. 17 on Billboard's Top Country Singles.

• How they came together: The Gossin brothers, natives of Utica, N.Y., came to Nashville in 2007 after tooling around the Carolinas. They found Reinert through her MySpace Web site, and then Kimball found them after a gig in Nashville.

• Their sound: Pop country with four-part harmonies akin to, but not as polished as, Lady Antebellum and Little Big Town. "We kind of stepped out of the box and put some jazz harmonies in that you won't hear in country today. We also have some classic country on the record."

• Their inspiration: "We all have very different inspirations. The guys really love the Beatles. . . . Rachel's inspired by a lot of classic country music, like Patsy Cline. And I was raised on classic rock. My favorite band is Blind Melon."

• Their aspiration: "Honestly, the fact that we're on the road playing music right now and traveling on a tour bus and being able to do what we love — we're happy doing this. Of course, we would love to get 'Wild at Heart' to No. 1 and be able to put our record out and people actually like it because we really worked hard on it. We just want to be able to play music for as long as possible."

• Love connections: "Absolutely not. We're all just like brothers and sisters. Honestly, we spent so much time together — there's just no romantic things going on. It's all like the smells and stuff, you know, living with guys. It's kind of gross."
