Borderlands Brewing Company will turn up the heat this Friday with a new brew created to raise funds for the Greater Tucson Fire Foundation.
The microbrewery has a Scottish ale dubbed "Smoke and Irons" prepared for the event, which is “a little less hoppy, a little bit maltier and a little bit smoother than your average pale ale,” said Borderlands co-owner Myles Stone.
Stone said the extra kick will be from the barley which was smoked with mesquite before added to the mix.
Pints are $4 with all proceeds going toward the foundation.
The Borderlands tap room, at 119 E. Toole Ave., will be open from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Call 261-8773 for more information.
