Friends, relatives and fans of the late Western singer Dean Armstrong will celebrate his life Saturday in a place where he spent most of his weekends the past 50 years.
From 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Armstrong's old band The Arizona Dance Hands will lead the celebration at Li'l Abner's Steakhouse, 8501 N. Silverbell Road in Marana. Also performing throughout the evening: Armstong's son Larry's band, Copper Moon; members of the Western Music Association and its local chapter the Arizona Ranch Hands; Mariachi Juvenil Herradura; and Big Jim Griffith.
