HARPER
Valerie Harper poses in New York, Aug. 31, 2001. Harper is a W.O.A.C.A. and not terribly shy about it. The acronym _ which stands for A Woman of a Certain Age _ has been adopted as a battle cry by the former star of "Rhoda" and "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" as she enters her 60s. These days, this W.O.A.C.A. has enough projects on her plate to make a woman half her age wheeze, including a stint on Broadway for at least the next six months, replacing LindaLavin in"The Tale of the Allergist's Wife."
