Those of us living in Tucson know that our dining scene isn't just about Sonoran hot dogs and Mexican food.
  But apparently when people think of Tucson, they associate us with authentic Sonoran-style Mexican food and the signature Sonoran hot dogs.
 The folks at the Los Angeles Times try to dispel that myth in a story published Monday. It hightlights five Tucson restaurants that do a fine job outside the Mexican genre: 47 Scott, Downtown Kitchen + Cocktails, Vero Amore, Mays Counter Chicken & Waffles and Loews Ventana Canyon Resort's Blues & Barbecue Sunday Brunch.
