And now there is one.
Las Cazuelitas, with its menu of Mexican seafood specialties and authentic fare, has gone from three restaurants to one, located at 1365 W. Grant Road.
The restaurant at 3535 E. Fort Lowell Road closed June 29 because of leasing issues, according to the 50-year-old founder and general manager Abelardo Frisby.The closing came on the restaurant's fourth anniversary.
The Las Cazuelitas at 224 E. 22nd St. closed Jan. 1 and is now La Buena Tortillera.
The original Las Cazuelitas opened in September 2000 on 36th Street. It later moved to 2615 S. Sixth Ave., where Los Portales is now.
The surviving location has been open since June 2004.
Frisby said he hopes to open more restaurants in the future, perhaps after the economy rebounds.
