Celebrity couples who called it quits in 2017

Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill have apparently broken up.

Minaj tweeted Thursday, Jan. 5: "To confirm, yes I am single."

Minaj added that she's focusing on her work and looking forward to sharing it soon.

Mill and Minaj were one of hip-hop's most prominent couples. They frequently performed together and could be seen courtside at NBA games. In 2015, she testified on Mill's behalf in a Philadelphia court in an effort to keep him out of jail over probation violations and promised to keep Mill in line. A defense lawyer also said at the time the couple seriously discussing marriage.

So far, Mill hasn't commented on the split.

It was announced in January that Scarlett Johansson and Dauriac split. They were married for two years, and have a 2-year old daughter. They separated last summer.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jane Fonda and record producer Richard Perry have split up after eight years together.

Seventy-four-year-old Perry tells E! News their romance has "temporarily been put on the back burner" because of Fonda's rededication to activism. He says the pair remain "extremely good friends" and he's not ruling out the chance of a reconciliation.

The 79-year-old Fonda joined marchers in Los Angeles in January as part of a worldwide women's rights protest.

The Los Angeles Times reports the couple recently put their Beverly Hills home up for sale with an asking price of $13 million.

Pop star Katy Perry and actor Orlando Bloom are breaking up after about a year together.

Representatives for Perry and Bloom released a statement Wednesday, March 1, saying the couple "are taking respectful, loving space at this time."

Bloom's film credits include "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. He was previously married to supermodel Miranda Kerr.

Perry is currently promoting her new single "Chained to the Rhythm" and has had hits with "I Kissed a Girl" and "California Gurls."

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Olympic medalist figure skater Michelle Kwan and Rhode Island attorney and political activist Clay Pell are getting divorced.

Pell says in a statement issued Wednesday it's with "deep regret" the couple's four-year marriage is coming to an end.

Kwan is a five-time world figure skating champion and nine-time U.S. figure skating champion. She won Olympic medals in 1998 and 2002.

Pell is the grandson of Rhode Island's late Democratic U.S. Sen. Claiborne Pell. He ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2014.

Pell and Kwan married in Providence in 2013.

Pell says it's "a sad and difficult turn of events." He says he loves Kwan and wishes her the best as her life takes her in a new direction.

Janet Jackson has confirmed a rumored split with her husband and says she plans to resume the world tour she called off more than a year ago during her pregnancy with her son.

Jackson says in a video posted on Twitter that she has separated from husband Wissam Al Mana. She says, "We are in court and the rest is in God's hands."

The couple's son was born in January.

The 50-year-old singer has also announced a return to the road on Sept. 7, 18 months after postponing her "Unbreakable" tour. She didn't say where the performance will take place.

Jackson is also changing the name of the tour to "State of the World."

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Chris Pratt and Anna Faris announced Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, that they are separating after eight years of marriage, sparking a wave of shock and sadness online about the demise of one of Hollywood's most popular power couples.

The actors announced their breakup on social media in a joint statement confirmed by Pratt's publicist.

"We tried hard for a long time, and we're really disappointed," the actors wrote. "Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another."

Pratt, who stars in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" franchise and Faris, who stars on CBS' comedy "Mom," married in 2009. They have a 4-year-old son.

The actors were publicly supportive of each other in their work and on social media. Pratt guest-starred as Faris' love interest on "Mom" earlier this year, and the couple laughed and kissed in April when Pratt was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Their breakup quickly became a worldwide trending topic on Twitter, where the pair had frequently shared messages about each other and their family.

NEW YORK (AP) — Fergie says even though she and husband Josh Duhamel are splitting up, they're still "great friends" who love one another and their young son.

The singer talked about her marriage at a screening Wednesday, Sept. 20, for her new visual album, "Double Dutchess," at iPic Theaters Fulton Market in New York. She told The Associated Press "the important thing is we're a family" with 4-year-old Axl and "there's so much love" that they share.

She says her new songs are about "a lot of different relationships," adding "feelings are feelings" and "they have to come out somewhere."

The Black Eyed Peas singer and actor confirmed last week that they had decided to break up earlier this year, but decided to keep the news quiet. They have been married for eight years.

CONCORD, N.C. (AP) — Danica Patrick and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. have split as a couple after nearly five years.

A spokeswoman for Patrick confirmed to The Associated Press on Monday, Dec. 18 that the drivers are "no longer in a relationship."

Patrick didn't attend the season-ending awards ceremony last month in Las Vegas with Stenhouse, who was honored for making NASCAR's playoffs in 2017. That led to speculation about the most high-profile couple in motorsports.

Patrick and Stenhouse announced they were dating in early 2013. She confirmed that by telling the AP: "I have a boyfriend, his name is Richard."

It was an unconventional pairing. They raced against each other weekly, and over the course of their relationship they clashed competitively, leading to post-race disagreements.

Patrick is 35 and had been previously married before she began dating Stenhouse. He recently turned 30.

She has made no secret of a desire to marry again, and revealed in a recent documentary directed by Hannah Storm she has frozen eggs in case she decides to have children one day.

Patrick is retiring as a full-time driver and hopes to end her career next year by racing in the Daytona 500 and the Indianapolis 500. It's an outgoing celebration she has dubbed the "Danica Double."
