Big Ben fails to strike as planned to signify nationwide silence for Queen Elizabeth

Big Ben failed to ring out as planned to signify the nationwide silence to mark the passing of Queen Elizabeth.

The London landmark was due to strike at 8pm as the country prepared to undertake a minute's silence to remember Her Late Majesty - who passed away on 8 September at the age of 96 following a 70-year reign - but remained silent in what has been described as a "technical issue."

A Parliament spokesperson said in a statement: "Big Ben failed to strike at 8pm as planned. We have investigated this as a matter of urgency and have identified a minor technical issue."

The Westminster landmark - which initially featured a tower known as the Clock Tower but it was renamed Elizabeth Tower in 2012 in honour of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee - is set to ring out once a minute for 96 minutes on Monday (19.09.22) in honour of the funeral but the statement added that the bell will be "tested" ahead of the ceremony in light of the technical hitch but insiders remain "confident" that the tolling will not be affected.

The statement continued: "We will be testing the bell again later tonight and are confident that it will not affect the tolling tomorrow during the state funeral procession."

During the minute's silence, Prime Minister Liz Truss could be seen outside 10 Downing Street with her head bowed alongside her husband Hugh O'Leary, while mourners filing past the coffin at Westminster Hall all stood still for the duration of the moment.

Queen Elizabeth's funeral will begin as an hour-long service at 11am on Monday, with the event being streamed on BBC One from 7:58am.

Entry to Westminster Hall queue will close permanently when it reaches final capacity

Entry to the queue for Westminster Hall will close permanently when the queue reaches final capacity.

Mourners wishing to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth - who died at the age of 96 on September 8 following a 70-year reign and is currently lying-in-state at the historic building - had already been told to "not set off" but a more recent update from DCMS claims that the current wait time is "at least" seven hours.

In a tweet, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport said: HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN'S LYING-IN-STATE QUEUE UPDATE, 7:50PM, 18 Sep. Entry to the queue will close when it reaches final capacity. Queue end point is at London Bridge Estimated queuing time is 7 hours."

Hundreds of thousands of mourners have been filing past the coffin in Westminster since it was put on display on Wednesday (14.09.22), with some facing a waiting time of up to 30 hours, but Her Late Majesty will leave the historic London building for the final time on Monday morning, just hours before her State Funeral is set to take place from 11am.

Prior to the tweet sent out on Sunday (18.09.22) afternoon, members of the public wishing to pay their respects to the monarch had initially been warned that they needed to be in the queue by 12:30am on Monday (19.09.22) in order to make it into Westminster Hall before it closes at 6:30am,

Over the course of the last week, two vigils had been held at the historic hall, first with the Queen's children standing by her coffin in silence as members of the public filed past before her grandchildren repeated the procedure on Wednesday.

King Charles - who acceded to the throne the moment his mother passed - was near the head of the coffin while his younger siblings Anne, Princess Royal, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward were arranged on the other sides.

Eugenie and Beatrice - who are the daughters of Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah, Duchess York, - could be seen on the platform to the side of the coffin along with their cousins Zara and Peter.

Just 24 hours later, Prince William - who is now heir apparent following his father's accession to the throne - stood at the head of the coffin and his younger brother, Prince Harry, at the foot.

Kate Winslet 'rushed to hospital' after suffering leg injury on Croatian film set

Kate Winslet has been "rushed to hospital" after suffering a leg injury.

The 46-year-old actress is currently filming in the Croatian village of Kupari and required medical attention after reportedly slipping over on the set of new biopic 'Lee', according to Croatian press.

The 'Titanic' star - who takes on the title role of Vogue photographer Elizabeth "Lee" Miller and is joined by the likes of Jude Law, Josh O'Connor, Marion Cotillard, and Andy Samberg in the upcoming HBO movie - is said to have been taken to the nearby Dubrovnik Hospital following a 15 minute journey in a black van and arrived at the medical facility wearing black clothes and a face mask as she was ushered in by "several people."

However, Kate will be carrying on with shooting her role "as planned" over the course of the upcoming week, with the trip to hospital having been described as a measure of "precaution."

A representative for Kate told Metro.co.uk: "She is fine and will be filming this week as planned."

Meanwhile, the 'Sense And Sensibility' actress recently wrapped up filming on the upcoming sci-fi movie 'Avatar 2' and explained that during a stunt that required her to remain underwater for seven minutes, she initially felt "wonderful" but then found herself wondering if she had died.

She said: "God, it's just wonderful. Your mind completely drifts off. You can't think about anything, you can't make lists in your head, you're just looking at the bubbles underneath you. My first words [when I resurfaced] were, "Am I dead?" Yes, I thought I died!"

Michael Crawford: Queen Elizabeth has taken me through my life

Michael Crawford says Queen Elizabeth has "taken him through" his life.

The 80-year-old actor was just 10 years old when Queen Elizabeth - who died at the age of 96 on September 8 following a 70-year reign - acceded to the throne after the death of her father King George and upon hearing the news, he immediately went home from school to start a scrapbook on her, which he has kept to this day.

He said: "Well I was a 10-year-old choirboy at the London Choir School in Bexley in Kent and we were called out to the tennis courts to be given an announcement and it was just very plain and simple 'The King is dead, long live the Queen' and the first thing I did was go home and found out who this lady is going to be. I bought the comics that I normally took and they were full of this beautiful young princess. I started a scrapbook. We didn't have phones in those days, but there were plenty of hobbies and one of them was making scrapbooks, which, I have kept to this day. This wonderful lady has taken me through my life and hundreds of thousands of others as well."

The West End star - who was awarded a CBE back in 2014 for charitable and philanthropic services - went on to explain that the late monarch was "rather like" former Prime Minister Winston Churchill and believes that her State Funeral on Monday (17.09.22) will be tearful occasion.

Speaking on the BBC special 'The State Funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth', he said: "It's so difficult to say. It sounds so strange. She was so close to so many with our thoughts. Rather like Churchill, you didn't see the engine room. You just saw the result. She was always so kind and so generous.

"I remember the other day, when the car was coming back from Northolt and the outriders were protecting her. Thousands of people were standing in the middle of the road - all races, all ages just clapping this wonderful woman. As we came round Victoria memorial, the outriders were all gathered in two lines on a curve with these large helmets on bending their heads forward. I burst into tears. It was so moving and I think there are going to be many tears tomorrow."

Joe Biden: Queen Elizabeth reminded me of my mother

Joe Biden says Queen Elizabeth reminded him of his mother.

The US president, 79, was in London with his wife and the First Lady of the United States, Jill Biden, on Sunday (18.09.22) to pay his respects to Her Late Majesty - who is currently lying in state at Westminster Hall following her death at the age of 96 on September 8 - and explained that the "world is better" for having had her as a Head of State for 70 years as he remembered meeting her back in 2021 when he was elected into power.

Speaking after visiting the coffin, he said: "To all the people of England and all the people of the UK, our hearts go out to you and you were fortunate to have had her for 70 years, we all were. The world is better for her. Thank you. She reminded me of my mother. Just because of the way she touched when she leaned over.

"The way she had that look, like, 'are you okay? Anything I can do for you? What do you need?' and then also: 'Make sure you do what you are supposed to do."

The Democrat - whose mother Catherine "Jean" Biden died in 2010 at the age of 92 following a long illness - is due to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth on Monday (19.09.22) and is among an estimated 500 world leaders venturing to England's capital city to remember the late monarch.

He added that the loss of the Queen has left a "giant hole", but explained that he has told her eldest son King Charles - who acceded to the throne the moment she passed away - that she will be "with him" throughout his reign.

He said: "She was the same in person as her image -- decent, honorable, all about service. Our hearts go out to the royal family, King Charles and all the family. It's a loss that leaves a giant hole, and sometimes you think you'll never overcome it, but as I've told the king, she's going to be with him every step of the way, every minute, every moment. And that's a reassuring notion."

Anne Heche's final performance hailed 'tour de force'

Anne Heche's final performance was a "tour de force".

The 53-year-old actress died last month, a week after being involved in a fiery car accident, and director Elisabeth Rohm has heaped praise on the star for the great work she did on their Lifetime movie 'Girl in Room 13', which sheds a light on human trafficking.

Elisabeth told People magazine: "It was a really positive experience working with her. These Lifetime movies move very quickly and they're a tough schedule, but she worked really, really hard, and she always brought her A-game, always elevated the other actors, was so generous to all the other actors.

"She was just a total pleasure, a hero for the film. She became a good friend and did a phenomenal job. Her performance is a tour de force, and it was really a privilege to direct her."

In the movie, Anne plays "heroic mother" Janie, whose recovering addict daughter (Larissa Dias) was kidnapped by human traffickers, prompting her to set out on a rescue mission.

Elisabeth and Anne were "really proud" to examine the subject and the pair, along with Larissa participated in a PSA for a partnership between Lifetime, the Polaris Project and the National Human Trafficking Hotline.

The director added: "What we really shared was a passion for the topic we were gonna tackle.

"Every single day we showed up to the project with a commitment to stop violence against women and to tell a tale that was dark and horrible, but with a fighting spirit and perseverance."

Elisabeth is still "devastated" by the actress' death and hopes she will be remembered for her "beautiful work and legacy", rather than the tragic circumstances surrounding her passing.

She said: "[Her death is still] very fresh, so we're all missing her and very shocked and devastated.

"I hope people celebrate her beautiful work and legacy. This film is a testament to her incredible passion for art and for humanity and for women and to create a mission, a movement, and to make a real difference in the world. So I couldn't speak more highly of her."

Terminator 2 star Robert Patrick doesn't watch his own movies

Robert Patrick doesn't watch his own movies.

The 63-year-old actor - who has children Samuel and Austin with wife Barbara - is best known for portraying villain in T-1000 'Terminator 2' but does not usually watch his work back unless it has happened to have been on television.

He said: "I don't go back and watch my movies. Every once in a while I will happen to come across it and see it. It happened recently, over Christmas. My kids were home and 'Cop Land' was on and I said to my kids 'Have you ever seen this?', and they said no so we sat and watched it but I don't do that too often."

Meanwhile, the 'X Files' star went on to explain that while he initially worried that he would never escape the "shadow" of his more iconic roles, he now embraces his acting history because it allows him to thank the fans that have supported him.

He told HeyUGuys: "Well it kind of goes [up and down] just like your career. Earlier on, I was like 'I'm never gonna get out of the shadow of T-1000.' and 'Why can't people talk about Walk the Line or my last movie?'"

"But now, as a 63-year -old man, who has had a long career and has been fortunate enough to keep it going, I realise what a blessing it is that I was the T-1000. I love to talk to fans about it. As a matter of fact, I'm going out of my way to meet more fans and I enjoy the hell out of it - meeting them at Comic Cons and having them tell me about 'Oh my father and I used to watch this' or 'You scared the hell out of me.'

"It's very rewarding to me because now I can physically plan to go and meet the fans who have supported me over the years."

Taylor Swift recording with Jack Antonoff again

Taylor Swift has seemingly confirmed Jack Antonoff has worked on her new album.

The 'Look What You Made Me Do' singer announced last month she will release 'Midnights', her 10th studio LP, in October but details about the 13-track record have largely been kept hidden until now, including who she has collaborated with on the record.

However, a new behind-the-scenes video about the making of the album shared by the 32-year-old singer featured a clip of her and Jack - who she has worked with on her most recent five albums, including the re-recorded versions of 'Fearless' and 'Red' - working together at the piano.

There will be several different vinyl releases of the record, and the 'Blank Space' hitmaker revealed earlier this week that they all come together to make a clock face.

Taylor previously explained the album tells the story of 13 sleepless nights.

Alongside a picture of herself sitting with her head in her hands Taylor wrote on Instagram in August: "We lie awake in love and fear, in turmoil and in tears. We stare at walls and drink until they speak back.

"We twist in our self-made cages and pray that we aren't - right this minute - about to make some fateful life-altering mistake.

This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face.

"For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching - hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve ... we'll meet ourselves."

Taylor concluded: "Midnights', the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life, will be out October 21. Meet me at midnight."

The post revealed there will be an A and B side with all the tracks titled by their number from one to 13.

'Midnights' is the follow-up to the 'Shake It Off' hitmaker's 2020 sister records 'Folklore' and 'evermore'.

Christian Bale inspired by Columbo

Christian Bale sought inspiration from 'Columbo' for his role in 'Amsterdam'.

The 48-year-old actor portrays a one-eyed veteran-turned-doctor in David O. Russell's upcoming murder mystery and he admitted he "studied" Peter Falk's performance as the titular character in the long-running detective series to get ideas.

Asked if he'd been inspired by 'Columbo', he explained: "Absolutely. Yes. Yes. His mannerisms! I studied him for sure."

Christian and David spent five years carefully mapping out the story over breakfasts in various diners and the men explained the Oscar-winning star's order varied dramatically depending on what other movie he was working on at any given point.

Christian told Deadline: "I varied from having a lot of coffee to having like 16 eggs and three bowls of rice. We did take pictures of me and Dave during the course of breakfast together and I got to tell you, whoa baby."

David added: "That's Christian. As we went through all this film, I had many other projects that came and went, and I thought this is the one I want to do."

The 'Wrestler' actor thinks the pair's discussions generated enough material for more than one movie, but he thinks how David shaped them into the finished film was "beautiful".

He said: "Well, I would have made at least two films, maybe three with all we came up with from the beginning. There were times where I would be in town for months on end and we would meet regularly and…"

David interjected: "Sometimes two or three times a week."

Christian continued: "And then I would go home for a little bit, and while I was gone, I have to say he did his best work. I'd come back and it would take him much longer. No. David has his own way. It's like, all these satellites of ideas come over him. We'd talk about them, I'd go away, come back and see what he did with those. I'd forget, but he doesn't forget anything and it was beautiful to see it all come together."

Florence Pugh hailed 'charming' by Don't Worry Darling scribe

Florence Pugh has been hailed "so vibrant" and "charming" and made for the role of Alice in 'Don't Worry Darling'.

The 26-year-old actress and Harry Styles - the boyfriend of director Olivia Wilde - play the seemingly happy couple Alice and Jack Chambers but cracks start to appear in their life when she becomes curious about the mysterious company Jack is working for.

And the flick's writer, Katie Silberman, says the 'Little Women' star was the perfect match for the character.

She told SFX magazine: "We knew that the whole movie lived and died on us caring about, and loving, Alice.

"So we were beyond lucky to have Florence in that role, because she's so vibrant.

"She's just so charming and lovely and vivacious, but also really smart and really tough and brave."

The scribe added: "We knew the role was going to require all those things, which is hard to find in one person, and she has them.

"The performance she gives is beyond a writer's wildest dreams."

She also spoke highly of Chris Pine who also slotted right into his role of Frank.

Katie says the movie - which hits cinemas on September 23 - is unlike anything seen before.

She said: "I think it's thrilling and sexy and beautiful.

"I'm excited for people to see it and be able to have those conversations afterwards.

"And to see something I don't think they've ever seen before."

Queen's corgis being looked after 'very well', says Prince William

Prince William has reassured mourners The Queen's corgis are being looked after "very well" in the wake of her death.

The late monarch - who died aged 96 on September 8 - has two corgis left, Sandy and Muick, after her beloved dorgi (dachshund-corgi cross) passed away aged 18, just months before she passed away.

And the Prince of Wales told those queuing in Lambeth, south London to see the queen's coffin lying in state at Westminster Hall that the monarch's canine companions have a "good home".

He told them in a clip shared by Sky News: "I saw them the other day. They're going to be looked after fine, they're two very friendly corgis and they've got a good home."

He added: "They're being looked after very well, spoilt rotten I'm sure."

The corgis are believed to be being looked after by the Duke of York and his ex-wife Sarah, Duchess of York.

A spokesperson for Prince Andrew said last weekend that he and Sarah will take on the pets - who were gifted to the queen by the duke during lockdown to lift her spirits while her late husband the Duke of Edinburgh was in hospital and she was staying in Windsor.

Her Majesty's dogs were each descended from her first, Susan, an 18th birthday present from her father, George VI.

A source also revealed the Duke of York would take the dogs into his 30-bedroom Royal Lodge home in Windsor.

An insider was quoted by The Sun saying: "It's fascinating - Charles is now King, Camilla is Queen Consort, William and Kate, the Prince and Princess of Wales… (Andrew) just gets the dogs.

"At least he's got plenty of time on his hands after stepping back from Royal duties."

In early 2021, the Queen was given two new puppies, one corgi, and one dorgi.

The monarch named the dorgi Fergus after an uncle, her mother's brother, Fergus Bowes-Lyon, who was killed in World War I in 1915.

Muick was named after a favourite spot near Balmoral Castle, where she traditionally spent her summers.

The late monarch was left devastated after five-month-old Fergus died just weeks after she received him, shortly after Philip also died, in April 2021 aged 99.

He was later replaced with a new corgi puppy from Andrew and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie for her official 95th birthday, who the Queen named Sandy.

Pat Boone is happy to be labelled 'a square'

Pat Boone is "glad" to have been seen as a wholesome family man.

The 88-year-old singer-and-actor - who sold more than 45 million records, had 38 Top 40 hits, and appeared in more than 12 Hollywood films - is happy to be seen as "a square" throughout his long career in Hollywood.

He told the US edition of Closer magazine: "My wife and I moved to California when my career was in full bloom. I said, 'We're not going to adopt Beverly Hills standards, we're going to live by Tennessee standards.; Those values have stuck with me my whole life. We raised our kids going to school and church, and people thought of me as a square. I was associated with all the good things, which I was glad about."

Pat - who was married to wife Shirley for 65 years until she died in 2019 - still lives in his and his wife's marital home where they raised their four daughters, Debby, Laurey, Cherry and Linda, because of the "memories".

He said: "I still say we've been married for 67 years. Two of those years she's been in heaven! I'm living in the same house we lived in for 62 years - I fight off the realtors with a stick! We paid $159,000 in 1960, and I've turned down $20 million because it's filled with our memories. Everywhere I look it's Shirley, the girls, us doing things together. It's a memory bank of everything that's happened in my life."

The 'State Fair' star gave insight into his "wonderful, close-knit" home growing up as a child.

Pat said: "I grew up in a wonderful, close-knit family. Daddy was a building contractor and architect; Mama was a registered nurse. I have a brother and two sisters. We were a churchgoing family. When I came along, we were in the early struggling days with my dad and his contracting company in Nashville. It became very successful, but at first it was a struggle for him economically."

Queen Elizabeth spent 'hours' planning beloved racehorses' futures '48 hours' days before death

Queen Elizabeth spent "hours" planning for the future of her beloved racehorses "less than 48 hours" before her death.

The late monarch's bloodstock and racing adviser, John Warren, has revealed the queen was in "tremendous form" as they discussed what was next for her horses before she passed away peacefully at Balmoral on September 8 aged 96, and her death came as a huge shock to him.

John is quoted by ITV as saying: "We sat there for hours over the weekend strategising and making plans going forward.

"She was in such a healthy state of mind and in tremendous form."

He continued: "She really loved having them right there with her and being able to talk about her horses and her love for her horses right to the very end.

"I left her on Monday afternoon, the prime ministers were coming in on the Tuesday, she had a winner on the Tuesday.

"On the Tuesday evening, she was in really good form, delighted she had had a winner, and talked about the prime ministers coming in and out, and I can hardly believe it possible that within less than 48 hours the Queen had died.

"Perhaps the racing community contributed to giving her some pleasure along the way."

King Charles has inherited around two dozen racehorses and about 80 brood mares from the royal stable.

The Queen's family are said to have spent years joking the only people who could easily reach her on the phone were her racing managers.

The monarch was given her first pony aged four, a Shetland named Peggy, from her grandfather George V.

When she turned six, she was able to ride and control the horse.

She had 1,600 winners, including victories in four of the five British Classic races.

In an image to mark her 96th birthday in April, the queen was pictured with a huge smile holding the reins between two white fell ponies.

It's recently been claimed that the Queen Consort, Camilla will take over from the late monarch as the royal family's horse racing figurehead.

Dan Reynolds and wife Aja Volkman separate

Dan Reynolds and his wife of 11 years, Aja Volkman, have separated.

The 35-year-old singer's marriage had many ups and downs, and just last year, he recalled how he didn't speak to his spouse for seven months and was "driving to the lawyer's office to sign the divorce papers" in 2018 when his estranged wife sent him a text which ultimately saved their marriage.

However, the pair - who have four children together, Arrow, 10, Coco, five, Valentine, two, and five-year-old Gia - have once again gone their separate ways.

In a social media statement on Saturday (17.09.22), Dan said: "I am saddened to say that after many beautiful years together Aja and I have separated.

"Being great parents to our children is our number one priority. Thank you for always supporting us with love and care for all these years."

He had said the text had "turned [his] perspective upside down".

The multi-skilled star shared at the time: "She said she didn't need to own me to love me. She loved me without expectations."

Dan told how they "ditched the lawyers and went to lunch", and the meal marked a new beginning for the pair.

He added on TikTok: "It felt like the first date again. We called off the divorce."

And the music star explained how the message inspired the group's song 'Follow You'.

He wrote: "I wrote this song after I got that text."

Dan and Aja sought therapy to get their relationship back on track after deciding to reconcile.

He previously said: "We've been going through marriage counselling and putting in a lot of work to keep our family strong.

"Fortunately for us, we worked through it. If that hadn't have been the case for us, there's many people before us who paved that route and still raised great kids together or go on to be friends, or whatever it is. Relationships are complex."

The 'Radioactive' hitmaker insisted his relationship with Aja isn't "perfect", but said all couples have their flaws.

He added: "No relationship is perfect. Sometimes it doesn't work out and that's okay; sometimes people separate for a little bit and they end up deciding to get back together and that's okay. We have this obsession with perfection right now. I think that's really dangerous because then everybody has false expectations and hopes for this beautiful, perfect marriage or life partner, and it's just going to be perfect - and that's just not the case."

Justin Trudeau visits Queen Elizabeth lying in waiting

Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited Queen Elizabeth's coffin lying in state at Westminster Hall on Saturday (17.09.22).

The politician and his wife, Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, were seen bowing their heads as they paid their respects to the late British monarch - who died aged 96 on September 8.

Trudeau - who had hailed the queen one of his "favourite people in the world" - also met with King Charles at a lunch reception at Buckingham Palace, as did Anthony Albanese of Australia, Philip Davis of the Bahamas, Andrew Holness of Jamaica and New Zealand's Jacinda Ardern.

US President Joe Biden is expected to pay his respects ahead of the queen's State Funeral at Westminster Abbey on Monday (19.09.22), which will be attended by 100 presidents and heads of government.

Former US President Donald Trump was left off the guest list for the funeral in London but received an invite from the British government for the "Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II", according to The Telegraph newspaper.

The service will take place at Washington's National Cathedral, which can hold around 1,700 people, on Wednesday (21.09.22).

The cathedral has previously hosted state funerals for former US Presidents Dwight Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford and George HW Bush.

Queen Elizabeth's US memorial service is being arranged by the British embassy in Washington.

In a previous statement about Queen Elizabeth after her death, Trump wrote: "Melania and I are deeply saddened to learn of the loss of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Together with our family and fellow Americans, we send our sincere condolences to the Royal Family and the people of the United Kingdom during this time of great sorrow and grief.

"Melania and I will always cherish our time together with the Queen, and never forget Her Majesty's generous friendship, great wisdom, and wonderful sense of humor. What a grand and beautiful lady she was--there was nobody like her!"

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie break silence on loss of 'beloved Grannie'

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have paid a heartfelt tribute to their beloved "Grannie" Queen Elizabeth.

The late monarch's granddaughters - whose parents are Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York - have issued a touching statement ahead of their vigil at Westminster Hall on Saturday (17.09.22) with their cousins in honour of their late grandparent, who died aged 96 on September 8, admitting it's been hard to put into words just how much they adore and miss her.

They began: "We've not been able to put much into words since you left us all.

"There have been tears and laughter, silences and chatter, hugs and loneliness, and a collective loss for you, our beloved Queen and our beloved Grannie.

"We, like many, thought you'd be here forever. And we all miss you terribly.

"You were our matriarch, our guide, our loving hand on our backs leading us through this world. You taught us so much and we will cherish those lessons and memories forever."

The pair shared their fond memories of the queen picking "heather and raspberries" for them, no doubt at her Balmoral Estate in Scotland, where the queen died peacefully.

They continued: "For now dear Grannie, all we want to say is thank you. Thank you for making us laugh, for including us, for picking heather and raspberries, for marching soldiers, for our teas, for comfort, for joy. You, being you, will never know the impact you have had on our family and so many people around the world.

"The world mourns you and the tributes would really make you smile. They are all too true of the remarkable leader you are."

Beatrice, 34, and Eugenie, 32, said they are "so happy" their grandmother has been reunited with her late husband, Prince Philip.

And they said their uncle, King Charles, will continue to "lead in your example".

They added: "We're so happy you're back with Grandpa. Goodbye dear Grannie, it has been the honour of our lives to have been your granddaughters and we're so very proud of you.

We know that dear Uncle Charles, the King, will continue to lead in your example as he too has dedicated his life to service.

God save the King.

With our love."

Donald Trump invited to US memorial service for Queen Elizabeth

Former US President Donald Trump has been invited to a memorial service for Queen Elizabeth in Washington DC.

The 76-year-old businessman was left off the guest list for the funeral in London but received an invite from the British government for the "Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II", according to The Telegraph newspaper.

The service will take place at Washington's National Cathedral, which can hold around 1,700 people, on Wednesday (09.21.22).

The cathedral has previously hosted state funerals for former US Presidents Dwight Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford and George HW Bush.

Queen Elizabeth's US memorial service is being arranged by the British embassy in Washington.

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden has accepted an invitation to the Queen's funeral in London on Monday (09.17.22).

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the invitation was transmitted as a diplomatic note from the protocol directorate of the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, with Biden accepting.

She said: "The invitation was extended to the US government for the President and the First Lady only."

Marcus Mumford praises Carey Mulligan's support for first solo album

Carey Mulligan was "completely critical" to Marcus Mumford's first solo album.

The 35-year-old singer/songwriter praised his 37-year-old wife for supporting him through the writing and recording of the album, in which he opens up for the first time about being sexually abused as a child.

He told Variety: "My wife was completely critical to the making of this record, and her support for it is why it's dedicated to her. … I ask her advice all the time. I think it's completely natural that the person you most love in the world should be present in the process.

"Of course we share everything behind the scenes, and it's only natural to share my work process with her to an extent. It's not a co-dependent relationship in that sense, but it is one that I found incredibly valuable, the most valuable throughout this whole process, and particularly making the record."

And, Brandi Carlile, who co-wrote and sings on the new album's final track, 'How,' praised the album 'Self-Titled' as "a trust fall".

Marcus said: "I love that Brandi sees it like that. And certainly that day in the studio with her doing 'How' felt like a bit of a trust fall, and she was there to catch me. I don't feel like it's a trust fall exercise with my audience. They're not responsible for my well-being. But the process of writing it was, to an extent, and there was an element of 'I think I'm gonna be held by the people around me, and I trust in them.'

"I avoid language about bravery or courage, because that to me feels too judgmental. Many people aren't able yet to take the opportunity to talk about some of this more difficult stuff. And, you know, I spent over 25 years not talking about. And I don't think that's a bravery issue, because I don't think by not talking about it, you're being a coward. But yeah, there's an element of faith involved, and trusting those around you."

Gene Simmons doesn't have friends and hates 'hanging out'

Gene Simmons doesn't have "friends" and prefers his own company.

The KISS rocker says his closest kinship is with his bandmate Paul Stanley, and they only get together when they have band things to do.

Speaking to Goldmine magazine, he said: "Even today, as I sit here, other than Paul, and we only get together when we do stuff for the band.

"How do I say this without sounding inhuman?

"I don't have friends.

"Yeah, if friends means, 'Gee, I don't know what I'm going to do this afternoon. Hey, you want to come over and hang out?'

"I'm more interested in what I want to do, and I don't want to pretend that I'm interested in what you want to do because I am not."

Meanwhile, Paul previously shared how he thinks KISS could continue without him and Gene.

The 'Detroit Rock City' rockers are on their 'End of the Road' farewell tour, with founding members Paul and Gene now joined by Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer, who replaced Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, respectively.

Weighing in on the future of the band once its final two original members retire, he said: "I think that recasting KISS or KISS 2.0 is not what we have ever talked about.

"Can KISS continue and can it evolve without us in it? Well, yeah, because it's already 50 per cent there.

"In other words, there was a time where people said, 'Well, it can only be the original four.' [And then] it was, 'Well, it can only be the original three.' Well, things move on and circumstances change."

He admitted despite his confidence in his own abilities, the group is "bigger than any member", and he doesn't rule out future iterations with different lineups.

He explained: "Could I see KISS evolving with different personnel? Yeah.

"As big a fan as I am of what I do -- and I think I'm damn good -- there's other people around who could pick up the torch and bring something to the philosophy and to the live show and to the music. It would be KISS. It wouldn't be KISS 2.0.

"If it were to happen, yeah, it would be really just a continuation of the philosophy that we've always had, and that's that KISS is bigger than any member."

However, Ace - who first left the group in 1982 before coming back again between 1996 and 2002 - has previously slammed the idea.

He argued: "They're trying to rationalise to the fans, 'Well, you know, we replaced Peter and we replaced Ace, and eventually we're gonna replace ourselves.

"That's like Mick Jagger saying, 'Yeah, after me and Keith [Richards], die, The Rolling Stones will continue on with two other guys.' I mean, it's a joke."

Magic Mike's Last Dance to get theatrical release

'Magic Mike's Last Dance' will get a theatrical release.

The movie - starring Channing Tatum and Salma Hayek - was originally set to go straight to streaming on HBO Max but Warner Bros has now decided on a theatrical release from February 10, 2023.

Meanwhile, director Steven Soderbergh recently revealed that he wanted it to premiere on the big screen.

He said: "We're talking about it.

"It's certainly hard to argue that this isn't a movie that's best seen in a theatre, because we have the data. People, primarily women, were going in packs, in large groups, to see the 'Magic Mike' movies."

Steven revealed that 'Magic Mike's Last Dance' is likely to be the final film in the series but suggested that spin-offs could be developed with characters other than Channing's Mike Lane.

He explained: "I think there are other things to be done within what I consider now to be a larger 'Magic Mike' universe.

"There are stories that can be told that have the same sort of ethos and are tackling the same subjects that still involve dance but don't have Mike Lane in them."

The film's production hit a rocky patch when Thandiwe Newton was replaced by Hayek after shooting began but Steven said the actress has been a capable member of the cast.

Soderbergh said: "I hadn't seen Salma in 22 years after she did a little bit part in 'Traffic'.

"She just brings so much to the table. Anybody that spent any amount of time with Salma will see that there is so much of Salma in this movie."

Gene Simmons doesn't fear death

Gene Simmons doesn't fear death.

The KISS rocker, 73, has insisted that unless a car drives into him, he's not scared of dying, and he will go out knowing what an "amazing life" he's been blessed with.

Speaking to Goldmine magazine, he said: "I'd be a complete arsehole, certainly more than I am now, if I wasn't grateful for this amazing life.

"I mean, if it ended today, I know that my tombstone would say, 'Thank you and good night.'

What more could you hope for?

"So I'm not afraid of death unless a car is coming straight into your face.

You kind of go, 'Oh my God!' But that's just instinct."

The 'Detroit Rock City' hitmaker added how he wants to ensure his finances are in order before leaves this world, so his family doesn't have any hefty bills to pay.

Asked if he thinks about his own mortality more now he's in his 70s, he replied: "I do, but only in terms of pragmatism, which is how up to date is the will.

"I want to make sure there are no taxes, there are no liens, there's nothing so that my family and my kids get taken care of, just sort of pragmatic taking care of business."

Gene - who previously dated fellow music stars Cher and Diana Ross - has daughter Sophie, 30, and son Nick, 33, with wife Shannon Tweed.

David Beckham turned down invitation to skip queue at Queen Elizabeth's vigil

David Beckham turned down the chance to jump the queue at Queen Elizabeth's vigil.

The 47-year-old former footballer queued with fellow mourners for over 13 hours to pay his respects to the late monarch at Westminster Hall in London this week and it has been revealed that he declined an invitation from an MP, who is allowed to take up to four guests, to skip the queue.

A source told the Daily Mail newspaper: "David could have avoided all of the queuing but he wanted to be like everyone else. He said his grandad wouldn't have [jumped the queue] so neither would he. He had been wondering all week when the best time was to go and finally he went.

"David was brought up in an East End family who were real royalists - the kind who would stand to attention when the national anthem came on. He wanted to go to see the Queen like any other member of the public."

David dressed in a suit for his long wait, because he said his grandfather Joseph West - a staunch royalist who died in 2009 at the age of 83 - would have done the same.

David, who met the Queen several times as England football captain and received his OBE from her in 2003, spoke about why it was important for him to pay his respects.

He said: "Every time we stood there when we wore those Three Lion shirts and I had my armband, and we sang God save our Queen, that was something that meant so much to us. Every time we did it, it was something special.

"So this day was always going to be difficult. It's difficult for the nation, it's difficult for everyone around the world, because I think everyone is feeling it, and our thoughts are with the family and obviously with everybody here today. Because it's special to be here, to celebrate and to hear the different stories that people have to say. I thought by coming at 2am, it was going to be a little bit quieter - I was wrong.

"Probably the most special moment for me was when I received my OBE. I took my grandparents with me, who were the ones that really brought me up to be a huge royalist and a fan of the Royal Family, and obviously I had my wife there as well.

"To step up, but then also Her Majesty, to ask questions, to talk, I was so lucky that I was able to have a few moments like that in my life.

"Because we can all see with the love that has been shown, how special she was and the legacy she leaves behind. It's a sad day, but it's a day for us to remember the incredible legacy that she's left."

Rosie O'Donnell has had a 'weird' relationship with Ellen DeGeneres

Rosie O'Donnell has had a "weird" relationship with Ellen DeGeneres.

The 60-year-old star fronted her own daytime chat show from 1996 until 2002 and - following a brief period where she was replaced by 'Sabrina, the Teenage Witch' actress Caroline Rhea - her slot was ultimately taken by fellow comedienne Ellen, 64, who fronted 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' between 2003 and 2022 but the pair are still "not friends."

She said: "We had a little bit of a weird thing, and after my show went off the air and hers was coming on the air. Larry King was on with 'Ellen' and he said 'What ever happened to Rosie O'Donnell? Her show went down the tubes! She came out as a lesbian and disappeared!' And Ellen said, and I'm quoting, "I don't know Rosie. We're not friends."

At the time, Rosie was married to then-wife Kelli Carpenter and went on to explain that she has "never got over" the comments that Ellen made about her on air.

Speaking on 'Watch What Happens Live', she told host Andy Cohen: "I was in bed with Kelli and I said 'Did I just hear that? Or was that a hallucination, auditory voice in my [head]?' 'And that's what happened. And it hurt my feelings like a baby. And I never really got over it!"

However, 'The Flintstones' actress then insisted that she wishes no ill to her fellow TV star - who quit hosting 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' earlier this year after 19 years on the air - and in fact hopes that she is "well."

She added: "I wish her all the good things in life and that she should be well."

Kim Kardashian looks after her children '80 percent' of the time

Kim Kardashian looks after her children "80 percent" of the time.

The 41-year-old reality megastar is mother North, nine, Saint, six, Chicago, four and three-year-old Psalm with her ex-husband Kanye West, who revealed that she is the one who takes care of the children the majority of the time even though he still gives her advice where he can.

Speaking on the 'Mind Full' podcast, he said: "Even to this day, I'll still give Kim advice on things that could help because that's going to go to the kids. She's still gotta, 80 percent of the time, raise those children. So what people saw when I was going back and forth is that I still have to be able to throw my version of what people would throw into the curriculum."

However, 'The Kardashians' star - who filed for divorce from the 'Stronger' rapper back in 2020 after six years of marriage - is also said to co-parenting in a "healthy" way with her ex-husband and that being a" goood father has always been of great importance to Kanye as he strives to keep his children happy.

A source said: "Kim and Kanye have been co-parenting in a healthy way lately. Things are cordial between them. Being a great dad has always been very important to Kanye and his main goal is to keep his children happy. He has been trying to keep any intense emotions out of anything and focus on what matters most to him, which is taking care of his family."

Kourtney Kardashian confirms a third season of The Kardashians is underway

Kourtney Kardashian has confirmed that a third season of 'The Kardashians' is underway.

The 43-year-old reality star appeared alongside the rest of her famous family on 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' from 2007 until 2021 before they launched 'The Kardashians' on Hulu the following year and has already started filming for the third season of the show, even though the second season does not air until September.

Kourtney said: "I've been filming season three here. We're shooting season three now."

The Pooch founder - who married Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker back in May 2022 but has children Mason, 12, Penelope, 10, and seven-year-old Reign with her ex-partner Scott Disick - went on to explain that the third season of the show will explore herself and her now-husband as they hunt for wedding outfits in Milan, but the episodes will not explore their wedding.

She told E! News: "Travis and I go to Milan to do our wedding fittings. So that's a really good adventure that we bring you guys along on. It's everything up until the wedding."

Kourtney went on to tease fans that there is "a lot" that will follow on from the drama from the second season - which is set to air from September 22 - that will spilll over into season three of the reality show.

She added: "There's a lot of family stuff that's just gone on during season two. So you get to see that!"

Meanwhile, Kourtney has recently become an ambassador for UK fashion retailer BooHoo and is hoping that her involvement will help to "open up" conversations about the future of the fashion industry.

She said: "There's still lots of work to be done and improvements to be made, but I truly believe that any progress we can make when it comes to sustainability is a step in the right direction and will open up the conversation for future advancements.

Marcus Mumford had songs checked by trauma specialist

Marcus Mumford had a trauma specialist check his new album before making the songs public.

The 35-year-old singer - who has two children with wife Carey Mulligan - has opened up about being sexually abused as a child when he was just six years old in his debut solo LP 'Self-Titled' but admitted he was wary of "triggering" people who have shared similar experiences.

He said: "I didn't just want to hang traumatic stuff out there and activate or trigger people."

The Mumford and Sons frontman has found it "helpful" to work through his own struggles and "shame" in his work, and didn't hesitate about releasing them.

He told The Guardian newspaper: "It felt like a natural and quite helpful part of my process, now I was less engulfed in shame.

"Because of what I do and who I am, the natural extension of this process of handling and coming to terms with this stuff was to write a song about it.

"Taking these intimate things, these really private moments and publicising them as widely as possible - it's just a f*****-up thing to do. But there's a magic in it, I think, because you offer the opportunity for people to connect through it."

And Marcus isn't worried that touring the record will make him "relive" his experiences.

He said: "I think that's part of the whole thing for me, part of the process. It doesn't make me relive anything when I play Cannibal. In the way I felt I had to approach or felt compelled to approach talking about this record, it started with the heavy stuff, but the rest of the record … yeah, there's some heavy stuff, but there's an invitation there that makes it appropriate for a congregational space.

"It's not just like: 'Look at all my pain.' Really, it's an album about freedom."

The 'Little Lion Man' singer had turned to alcoholism and binge-eating towards the end of Mumford and Sons' last tour in 2019 so eventually went into trauma therapy to tackle his buried feelings.

He recalled: "When you're travelling all the time, you're able to convince yourself of anything, to make excuses not to take responsibility. 'Oh, I'm on my own, so I can have a few drinks in my room'. or 'I can have a few pints of ice-cream in my room because I'm medicating loneliness, or shame, or whatever it is.'

"People around me said: 'You've got to figure this out, mate,' but they didn't know what the problem was, and neither did I."

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's defamation battle is going to be a movie

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's defamation battle is going to be the subject of a new movie.

The former couple spent several months locked in a legal battle over a 2018 op-ed the 36-year-old actress wrote about being a victim of domestic abuse but in June, the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor - who wasn't named in the article - was awarded over $10 million in damages, while the 'Aquaman' star received $2 million in a counter suit.

Both stars are appealing the verdicts, which came over a year after the 59-year-old actor lost a libel case in the UK after The Sun newspaper branded him a "wife beater" and a subsequent appeal.

And now, the pair's turbulent relationship and the resulting legal battle will be the focus of a film titled 'Hot Take: The Depp/ Heard Trial', with Mark Hapka and Megan Davis signed up to play the Hollywood stars.

Melissa Marty has been cast as Johnny's lawyer, Camille Vasquez, while Marry Carrig will portray Elaine Bredehoft, who served as Amber's attorney.

Sara Lohman will direct from a script by Guy Nicolucci.

Adam Lewinson, Chief Content Officer, Tubi, said in a statement: "With our partners at MarVista, this Tubi Original was fast-tracked into production to capture a timely take on a story that became part of the cultural zeitgeist, painting a unique picture of what millions watched play out in the headlines over the summer."

Amber appealed the judge's decision in the defamation case on July 21.

The 'Danish Girl' star was denied a request for a mistrial a week earlier after arguing one of the jurors on the case should not have been sitting as his summons was intended for his father, who had the same name and lived at the same address.

And her ex-husband's lawyers later admitted they would have "moved on" and not filed a counter appeal if Amber hadn't submitted her paperwork.

Camille said: "It was expected. I mean she's indicated since the day she lost the trial that she was going to appeal.

"It's pretty standard legal procedure. We just hope that the court will uphold the verdict which we think was the right verdict and allow both parties to move on."

Kim Kardashian says it's 'so embarrassing' when her children crash her Zoom meetings

Kim Kardashian finds it "embarrassing" when her children interrupt her work calls.

The 41-year-old reality star admitted it's not unusual for one of North, nine, Saint, six, Chicago, four and three-year-old Psalm - who she has with ex-husband Kanye West - to come into the room when she's in a Zoom meeting at home and she always feels awkward when it happens.

Kim appeared on a panel at 'A Day of Unreasonable Conservation' lead by Baratunde Thurston and film producer Scott Budnick, and the latter praised her willingness to get involved with a call on any subject, even when her four kids are "running around" in the background.

Kim quipped in response: "So embarrassing".

Scott said: "This woman right here, it's like we find out the governor loves the Oklahoma Sooners football team ... She's on every Zoom. 'Hey, Kim, the evangelical pastor in Oklahoma is interested in learning about the case.' Okay, we're on a Zoom that night, with all of her kids running around the Zoom."

He later added that Kim "cannot" get them away despite how hard she tries.

Scott said: "No matter how many doors she locks, she cannot keep the kids out of the room."

The SKIMS founder's offspring are no stranger to the internet with North once going on live on TikTok recently without parental consent.

She announced: "Mom, I'm live," before Kim scolded her, saying: "No, stop. You're not allowed to."

'The Kardashians' star addressed the issue having "rules" in her home about social media in conversation with journalist Bari Weiss, who reminded Kim she broke the rules when she was younger.

Kim said: "I guess you're right. Like, I do break the rules. I didn't really think about it that way. I'm cautious. I care so much about what other people think that I try to do it in a respectful way, even if I break them."

"I mean, North West is Kanye West's daughter. Forget that, she's his twin. So she will still definitely do all of the above. But in my household, there are rules. She did feel really bad about that, and she apologised to me and she said 'I saw on TikTok that I got in trouble and I'm really sorry.' And she got it."

King Charles delivers speech in Welsh

King Charles made an unprecedented speech in Welsh at the Senedd on Friday (16.09.22).

The 73-year-old monarch and his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, attended the Welsh Parliament to hear a motion of condolence from MPs and afterwards, he addressed the assembled politicians for over a minute in the language as he gave "heartfelt thanks" for their words about his late mother, Queen Elizabeth, following her death last week.

Speaking in Welsh and English, he said: "Llywydd, First Minister, Members of the Senedd. Heartfelt thanks.

"I know the Senedd and people of Wales share my sadness.

"I am deeply grateful for the addresses of condolence which so movingly paid tribute to our late sovereign, my beloved mother the Queen."

Charles admitted it had been a "privilege" to serve as Prince of Wales before becoming king and said it was just as big an honour for his eldest son Prince William, who has now been given the title.

He continued: "I take up my new duties with immense gratitude for the privilege of having been able to serve as Prince of Wales.

"That ancient title dating from the time of those great Welsh rulers... I now pass to my son William whose love for this corner of the Earth is made all the greater by the years he himself has spent here."

The king praised his late mother's connections to Wales.

He said: "Through all the years of her reign, the land of Wales could not be closer to my mother's heart.

"I know she took immense pride in your many great achievements, even as she also felt you deeply in great times of sorrow.

"It must surely be counted the greatest achievement to belong to a land that inspired so much devotion.

"I am resolved to honour that same example in the spirit of the words I always try to live my own life - Ich dien - I Serve."

The king had Welsh lessons at Abersytwyth University before his investiture in 1969 and has often delivered passages of speech in the language."

Britney Spears and Jamie Spears are in discussions to end their legal battle

Britney Spears and her father are in discussions to end their legal battle.

The 'Toxic' hitmaker and her dad Jamie Spears have been in an ongoing dispute over the fallout from her conservatorship - which gave him control over the 40-year-old singer's financial, healthcare and professional decisions for 13 years - since it was finally lifted in November 2021 but it seems progress may finally being made.

After Britney's lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, previously rejected approaches from the legal teams of Jamie and Tri Star Sports and Entertainment Group to sit down to discuss issues including the 'Gimme More' singer's attorney's claim that her dad and the company misappropriated massive amounts of money from the star, he has reportedly had a change of heart around a month ago.

According to TMZ, Mathew offered to end the dispute for a figure of around $7 million, but reached an impasse when he declined to explained to Tri Star and Jamie's teams as to how he had arrived at that figure.

However, both stars are still open to settling and a source told the outlet that as recently as this week, the lawyer contacted Tri Star to press ahead with a possible settlement, though the exact amount remains a sticking point.

In July, a judge ruled Britney won't have to sit for a deposition because it is "unlikely to provide any discoverable information".

Judge Brenda Penny said: "There exist alternative and less burdensome means to seek information."

Britney's lawyer praised the ruling at the time.

He said: "We are very pleased, but not surprised, that Judge Penny reconfirmed her thoughtful and legally correct ruling, once again rejecting Mr. Spears's shameful and desperate effort to take his own daughter's deposition.

"Any decent man, especially father, would accept his losses and simply move on."

Jamie's attorney Alex Weingarten said: "Mr. Spears did right by his daughter. The conservatorship was for her benefit ... the truth will come out."

Rosengart had previously claimed an attempt to push Britney into a deposition was "retaliatory" and "abusing the legal process".

Danniella Westbrook's son joins OnlyFans

Danniella Westbrook's son Kai Jenkins has launched an OnlyFans account under the pseudonym Jordan Powers.

The 25 year old is posting racy content on the adult subscription platform under the handle @iamjordanpowers, and has been advertising his new venture via his Twitter account (@KJ_Artist).

Kai has also made videos promoting his OnlyFans account and has boasted to potential subscribers that he is "packing so much, you'd think I was in the removal game".

A shirtless Kai posted one video online in which he says: "Hey, what's going on, it's Jordan Powers, make sure you subscribe to the OnlyFans. I've got a Crypto business and a whole lot more content. I've been packing so much, you'd think I was in the removal game."

He has so far posted 32 photos and four videos to his OnlyFans and has promised subscribers racy collaborations with other performers soon.

Kai has previously tried to launch a music career as a rapper releasing music online as KJ and Fuego, and in the past has also described himself as a model and music producer. He also launched a short-lived podcast.

Danniella, 48, gave birth to Kai in 1996 when she was 23 and had found fame in 'EastEnders'. His father is car dealer Robert Fernandez, who the actress dated for two years before they split in 1998.

Kai also has a half-sister sister Jody Jenkins, who was born in 2001 during her 12-year marriage to businessman Kevin Jenkins, whose surname Kai took.

In 2012, Danniella told Jeremy Kyle during a television interview how she had taken five grams of cocaine a day when she was expecting Kai.

Danniella has also opened up about the shame she feels as a parent to Kai and Jody, due to her drug taking and excessive boozing.

Speaking to Kai on his Firecast podcast, she said: "It's caused you nothing but heartache and pain.

"It's about consistency, love, nurturing, stability. I haven't always given you that. All right, I was clean for 14 years. But before that your life was s***.

"I'm not going to beat around the bush. You might have looked like you had everything in the world, but your life was s*** because I wasn't present.

"I know I've caused you guys a lot of hassle you didn't need - a lot of shame, a lot of bullying.

"I don't know if I would have the love and the patience if it was one of my family members."

Kanye West wants school parents to sign NDAs

Parents reportedly have to sign non-disclosure agreements before their children can attend Kanye West's new private Christian school Donda Academy.

The 'Famous' rapper, 45, set up the educational establishment to "prepare students" to become "leaders" by instilling "integrity and care" but to be a pupil there, their guardians must sign documents stating they cannot talk about what goes on in the building.

Two families, whose children are among the less than 100 students at the school, told Rolling Stone they had to sign the NDAs as part of the admission process.

However, consultant Tamar Andrews debunked the claims, insisting parents only have to sign an "informal agreement", but didn't specify what that was.

He added: ""Honestly, we don't care if people know about the school,.

"The people that want to come to the school are looking for a good Christian school in that area and they know that we're there … there is also a certain notoriety that comes with being affiliated with Donda. So, I don't know that we have to advertise, which is a blessing and a curse."

Kanye's friend and collaborator, Malik Yusuf, insisted the "sense of privacy" offered by the school is one of its big draws, as well as the rest of its ethos and its environment.

He said: "People choose to bring their kids to Donda Academy for a sense of privacy.

"A sense of care, a sense of concern, a sense of love, an environment of health, and an environment of wealth, an environment of learning, and putting God as a focus."

"The process of Donda school is for the parishioners, for the attendees.

"I don't think Kanye needs to tell the world what he's doing so that he can be under more scrutiny."

According to the website, pupils attending will follow "full school worship; core classes of language arts, math and science; lunch and recess; enrichment courses including world language, visual art, film, choir, and parkour".

Malik hailed his friend's vision for the school.

He said: "I want to be emphatic that there's never been a time that Kanye West did not want to do this. I think people don't understand the gravity of that.

"This man always wanted to create a school in his mama's name… Look at what we're doing with the choir and the fashion in school - I don't think there's a venture capitalist or anybody that's had a vision this clear on what education can look like for you."

No other information about the school's structure and format has been made available.

Mariah Carey's fans got Outside lyrics tattoos

Mariah Carey has revealed fans have gotten tattoos of the lyrics to her 'Butterfly' track 'Outside'.

The 53-year-old music legend's hip-hop-infused 1997 LP 'Butterfly' turned 25 today (16.09.22), and the 'We Belong Together' hitmaker has shared the painful story behind the lyrics on the a capella track about feeling like an outsider as a mixed race person and how they resonated so strongly with her fans.

She said: "I hadn't heard that in years.

"When I mix my records, layering my own background vocals, which is one of my favourite things to do as a producer, layer after layer, texture after texture -- I'm in that moment. Hearing that back now, thinking about how my lyrics are about mainly being an outsider, growing up biracial, and that being the bane of my existence then in so many ways -- that was the first specific song about that topic that I wrote and sang."

Mariah - who worked with Sean Combs, Q-Tip, Missy Elliott and the Trackmasters on the seminal record - added in an interview with Variety: "I've since heard about people having tattooed its lyrics to their bodies, and deeply connected to it, so when I listened back to the a capella, you can really hear the pain in it. I'm not feeling that pain now, but I can hear its root, its core, coming through its lead."

Elsewhere, Mariah admitted she was surprised to hear that 'Butterfly' paved the way for rap and pop collaborations.

She explained: "It was not a conscious thing that I did.

"It was just music that I wanted to make. To be able to able to talk about the butterfly - as a symbol - was symbolic of what I had to fight for: my freedom. It was a very difficult business, a male-dominated business, that I got into as a teenager and had to keep fighting to get through. I had to earn and fight for my freedom before, during, after, and still.

"So, people do tell me that 'Butterfly' paved the way for rap and pop collaborations.

"But at the time, I didn't think that; I just thought this music is perfectly normal. Why would I want to stay in a box?"

Idris Elba wants Luther movie to spark James Bond style franchise

Idris Elba hopes his 'Luther' movie will be the start of his own James Bond style action franchise.

The 50-year-old actor is bringing the BBC crime series - written by Neil Cross - to the big screen, and shooting has wrapped on the project.

Idris has long been linked to the role of 007, and has reportedly been considered for the part again following Daniel Craig's decision to step away from the series, but he believes DCI John Luther's first foray into cinemas will be the start of his own blockbuster series that can rival the exploits of Bond.

Speaking on the 'Jemele Hill is Unbothered' podcast, he said: "It's incredible, it's like graduating. The television show ran a natural course, we did five seasons and each one of them shape-shifted but kept an audience captivated for 10 years. The graduation point is where we get to take that Luther character and elevate him to the big screen with a wider spectrum of scale, stories we can tell, maybe even take it international in terms of who Luther is. It's a huge achievement for all of us who have written it. Also what I'm happy about is that I saw the film, we shot the film, and if you've never seen an episode of Luther you can still be invited into the first chapter of the film series, I'm hoping that this movie literally becomes my Bond, everyone talks about Bond but, for me, it's Luther."

Meanwhile, Idris recently admitted he wants to make more movies in Africa.

The British star's latest film 'Beast' was shot in South Africa and sees his character Dr. Nate Samuels battle a rogue lion hunting him and his daughters.

Idris - whose mother and father hail from Ghana and Sierra Leone respectively - now has the ambition to develop the industry in Africa.

He said: "I'm really keen on the development of Africa. My parents come from Africa and more than anywhere in the world, I feel like that continent deserves some real tender care and love and thought.

"Young Africans view me as a leader or a beacon. And I feel like I could bring something. So I'm keen to bring what I've learned in media and amplify it in Africa."

"I'm a fan of the Nigerian (film) industry. I'm a fan of the South African industry. Ghana has a very small industry. And I'm a fan of the content creators in Africa, especially West Africa.

"These kids that have these smartphones are making incredible content. And I feel like it's overlooked. So I'm really a fan of trying to harness that and help that grow."

Jeff Bridges was 'at death's door' when he contracted Covid-19

Jeff Bridges was "at death's door" when he contracted Covid-19 while battling cancer.

The 'Big Lebowski' actor - who has been in remission since September 2021 - was undergoing chemotherapy for non-Hodgkin lymphoma when he caught the respiratory illness in January 2021 and he was left struggling because the treatment he'd been having left him with "nothing to fight" off the virus.

He told E! News: "The chemo wipes out your immune system and when COVID hit me, I had nothing to fight it.

"I was just really at death's door a couple of times there."

Jeff spent more than four months in hospital and feared he wouldn't be able to work again or even walk his daughter Haley, 36, down the aisle when she got married, so he feels fortunate the people around him stayed positive.

He said: "I remember the doctors saying to me, 'Jeff, you gotta fight.'

"had no idea what they were talking about. I thought, 'Man, I'm in surrender mode here.' With a great medical team, great trainers and my family, everybody brought me back."

The 72-year-old star - who also has Isabelle, 41, and Jessie, 39, with wife Susan Geston - won't take his loved ones for granted following his brush with death.

He said: "Sue and I were looking at each other and we went, 'How lucky are we?' I hug that girl and I get recharged. It's right there, so accessible.

"I'm being conscious of stuff that's just right in front of me like love and my family and all of the stuff that's available for me. I'm just really loving this obvious thing that we live with all the time and take for granted.

"So often things are right on our nose that we don't appreciate. But it turns out there are many positive sides in my life that came out of that experience."

Queen Consort Camilla has broken toe

Queen Consort Camilla has been nursing a broken toe while carrying out ceremonial duties following the death of Queen Elizabeth.

The 75-year-old royal is said to be in "quite a lot of pain" but has ignored her discomfort to be by the side of her husband, King Charles, as they toured the UK meeting well-wishers and carrying out official duties over the week since her mother-in-law passed away at the age of 96.

A source told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "She is in quite a lot of pain but she is just getting on with it. It is unfortunate timing to say the least but she's been an absolute trouper."

It is believed Camilla - who retreated to her home in Wiltshire for a day of reflection on Thursday (15.09.22) - sustained the injury before Elizabeth's death but insisted on continuing with her duties.

A spokesperson for the king refused to comment.

They said: "Medical matters are private."

The queen consort was by Charles' side last Friday (09.09.22) when they met members of the public outside Buckingham Palace before he recorded his first address to the nation in his new role as king.

The following day, she spent an hour on her feet at the Accession Council ceremony at London's St James' Palace before flying to Scotland on Monday (12.09.22) for a service and vigil at Edinburgh's St. Giles' Cathedral.

Charles and Camilla were in Northern Ireland on Tuesday (13.09.22) to meet officials and members of the public, and on Wednesday (14.09.22) they returned to London for the procession accompanying the queen's coffin from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall, though the queen consort travelled by car with female members of the royal family.

Thursday was a day off for the couple, but on Friday (16.09.22), they will return to official duties with a trip to Wales.

Lil Nas X to release League of Legends Worlds anthem

Lil Nas X's next track, 'STAR WALKIN'', will soundtrack the 'League of Legends' Worlds 2022 tournament.

The 'Old Town Road' hitmaker's fans can expect the new song on September 23, ahead of the big kick-off in Mexico City.

What's more, Nas will be playing live during the Worlds Finals at San Francisco's Chase Center on November 5.

The Grammy winner has also teamed up with Riot Games to design a skin for the new champion K'Sante, The Pride Of Nazumah, with Prestige Empyrean K'Sante being unlockable between November 3 and 14.

In a statement, the 23-year-old star - whose real name is Montero Hill - said: "I felt like it was time for me to try something new.

"I've left my mark on pop culture in so many ways, and now it's time to take on the world of gaming."

The 'Industry Baby' hitmaker quipped: "I will be the greatest president of 'League of Legends', of all time.

"Also I'm going to make the best Worlds anthem of all time and put on the biggest, coolest, sexiest Worlds in the history of all Worlds! 'STAR WALKIN'' is the only song anyone is allowed to listen to from now on."

Last year, PVRIS released the Worlds anthem 'Burn It All Down'.

The likes of Imagine Dragons, Zedd and Against The Current are among the acts to have released an anthem for the tournament.

Worlds 2022 will take place in Mexico City, New York City, Atlanta, and San Francisco between September 29 and November 5.

Weird Al gave Daniel Radcliffe accordion lessons

Weird Al advised Daniel Radcliffe how to play the accordion for 'Weird: The Al Yankovic Story'.

The 33-year-old actor stars as the parody musician in the new biopic and was critiqued most by Al on his technique with the musical instrument, even though there was a lot of "freedom" in the fact that he is not doing a solid impersonation.

He said: "I think definitely a lot of license and freedom was given by the fact that it's not just a straight Al biopic and impersonation. That, I think, gave me a lot of freedom to be like, okay, this is a version of this person. And I'm also really lucky that Al's nice! And that he wasn't sitting on set like a hawk being like, 'Ah, you did that wrong.' He's very, very generous. Most of the notes that I got from him were musical, and particularly about the accordion. He was like, 'Can you be a bit more expansive in how you're pumping it? Because you're a bit cautious with that,' and he's very expressive with it. ."

The 'Harry Potter' star went on to explain that the 'White and Nerdy' hitmaker - whose real name is Alfred Matthew Yankovic

- was "concerned" that he would make him come across "shy" on screen but found a sense of "approval" when he saw he had made the comedy songwriter laugh.

but He told Collider: "So, I think he was a bit concerned that I was gonna make him look like a shy accordionist. So yeah, there was that, but generally speaking, it was intimidating but also when you would see him laugh at something, you'd be like, 'Okay, great! I can go home.' It's a very good seal of approval."

Noah Cyrus 'stripped' of identity

Noah Cyrus was "stripped of [her] identity" as a child.

The 22-year-old singer admitted growing up in the shadow of her famous older sister Miley Cyrus took a toll on her, but writing her latest album 'The Hardest Part' has finally helped her to "heal".

She told the i newspaper: "Something that really hurt me as a child was that I was stripped of my identity.

"I had no name, at all. But as I've grown as a musician, especially in the past three years, I would say that bothered me less and less. I might be doing things that other people in my family do, but I'm doing it in a way that is mine. I think with this album I've healed a part of me."

Referring to advice she was given by John Mayer, she added: "He told me to keep writing songs that will last for ever.

"I've held on to everything he said to me. Whether or not people respond to the songs on this album like they did to 'July', to me they're just as special. I put just as much into them and I love them so much."

Noah struggles to enjoy her success because she is constantly worried about "the end".

She said: "I do look at life as the glass being half empty. I've always been very fearful of the end. I'm always afraid someone's going to leave. It's really hard for me to sit and be where I am and enjoy that moment because I'm already fearing that it's over."

The 'July' singer began experimenting with anti-anxiety drug Xanax when she was 18, but her problems spiralled out of control during the Covid-19 lockdown.

She said: "When I wrote 'Lonely', I was taking Xanax and was on pills, but it really was at its worst during the pandemic.

"We were all extremely lonely. I was lonely, although I wasn't by myself; I was in a relationship where we were both co-dependent on each other and on substances. That causes a really unhealthy relationship."

Noah eventually sought help for her struggles and is thankful she met her new manager Mookie Singerman in the early days of her recovery.

She said: "I'm lucky that I met someone who was so supportive and caring towards me, and who really cared about helping me in my career, but also personally, too. I found a lot of love there."

Mufasa: The Lion King gets a July 2024 release

'Mufasa: The Lion King' will be released in July 2024.

The much-anticipated prequel story has been handed an official release date of July 5, 2024.

Billy Eichner, Seth Rogan, and John Kani are all set to reprise their roles from 'The Lion King', the 2019 musical drama film that also featured performances from James Earl Jones, Beyonce and Donald Glover.

However, no other casting details have been revealed announced at this stage.

The upcoming movie will explore the rise of Musafa to his reign as king, with the story being told through the lens of Timon, Pumbaa, and Simba.

The project is being directed by Barry Jenkins, who is replacing Jon Favreau in the director's chair.

Barry, 42, recently revealed that working on 'The Underground Railroad', for Amazon Prime Video, helped him to understand what he could bring to 'Mufasa: The Lion King'.

The filmmaker relished the experience of working on a "visual effects heavy" project for the first time and he's excited to helm the new movie.

He said: "It was something I always wanted to do.

"I was finishing 'The Underground Railroad' when this project came to me, and so it was great to be working in a very visual effects-heavy way for the first time in my career. I'd done visual effects but not in this way at all."

Barry admits that making 'The Underground Railroad' gave him the confidence that he needed to tackle a project of this size.

He explained: "It was really great to get an inside look at what that process was like. It helped me understand that I could make this fi

George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon 'reunite for new Ocean's movie'

George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon are reportedly reuniting for a new 'Ocean's' movie.

The Hollywood trio previously starred together in the 2007 heist movie, 'Ocean's Thirteen', and they're now poised to reunite for the latest film in the money-spinning franchise.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Rumours of a film starring George, Brad and Matt have swirled for years but the timing was off and their jam-packed schedules meant that it was just not possible.

"Finally the right team for the job has come together in a bid to make it a huge success and the main stars thought it would be good fun to revisit.

"The franchise is hugely popular and the brilliant storyline was an opportunity that was too good to miss."

Matt, 51, previously confirmed that he was open to starring in another 'Ocean's' movie.

However, he insisted that the future of the franchise was in the hands of director Steven Soderbergh.

Matt - who played con man Linus Caldwell in the 'Ocean's' trilogy - said: "It would always be up to Steven Soderbergh if there was a story."

The actor also conceded that the situation was complicated by the deaths of his late co-stars, Bernie Mac - who passed away in 2008, aged 50 - and Carl Reiner, who died in 2020, aged 98.

Matt described the cast of the franchise as a "depleted gang".

He explained: "We have lost a couple of our members, so we would have to figure it out - we are a depleted gang now."

Meanwhile, Don Cheadle previously suggested that he won't make another 'Ocean's' movie.

The actor - who played the part of Basher Tarr - said: "We were talking about it, and then Bernie passed, and very quickly we were like, 'No, we don't want to do it.'"

I've been kicked off Tinder, says Lewis Capaldi

Lewis Capaldi has been "kicked off" Tinder.

The 25-year-old singer turned to dating apps in the hope of finding love - but Lewis was quickly removed from the platforms because his profile was assumed to have been "fake".

He explained: "I've just been kicked off Tinder because people think I'm fake.

"I've been kicked off Bumble, Tinder and Hinge. Someone told me to go on this one called Feeld and I go on it and it's so sexual, it's unbelievable.

"It's all about kinks and BDSM and I'm like, 'This is way beyond anything I'm tuned in for.'"

Lewis admits that his fame and success has actually made his love life more complicated.

Speaking to Steven Bartlett on the 'Diary of a CEO' podcast, Lewis shared: "At the end of the day, I'm still 25 and people talk about a power imbalance of someone being famous. I'm trying to work that out as well because I don't want to use my fame, or for that to have any influence over someone I'm dating.

"What, am I only supposed to date people who are famous? That's a really weird thing.

"I'll admit being on Tinder is a bit weird but I met my last girlfriend on Tinder and she's f****** great."

The 'Someone You Loved' hitmaker would still like to meet someone in the coming months.

But Lewis admits he's not ready to settle down and have kids.

He said: "If I met the right person I'd be buzzed. But right now it's a bit unfair with the other person, they'd have to be quite an understanding human being.

"And kids? Right now that's not in my plans at all. One of my friends has four kids and that's not my bag at all."

Mariah Carey shares how she bonded with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex

Mariah Carey and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex bonded over being biracial and the many "misconceptions" about them.

The 'We Belong Together' hitmaker, 53, was the latest guest on the 41-year-old royal's 'Archetypes' podcast - which aired days before the passing on Queen Elizabeth on September 8 - and she has shared how she and the former 'Suits' actress had a lot in common and she "enjoyed" getting Meghan's "take on things".

She told Variety: "I don't know that I should be an authority on anybody but myself, but to preface my answer -- I did not meet the Queen.

"I am, however, obsessed with the show 'The Crown.' And the podcast with Meghan, I felt, was an important moment and one that I truly enjoyed -- getting her take on things, she's had her journey and I've had mine. There are some similarities, like being biracial. I tend to dwell on that topic because I just can't get over it. It's always a thing, whether I bring it up or someone else does. I assume that's why it was interesting for she and I to talk for her podcast. There are so many misconceptions about her and about me -- you can't even realise how many misconceptions."

The episode was billed as an exploration of the "complexities surrounding the 'diva'" and the negative connotations associated with the word.

And Mariah left Meghan in a "sweat" and "stopped her in her tracks" when she referred to her as a "diva".

Duchess Meghan used the term to mention Mariah's infamous reported diva demands, including rumoured requests for 20 white kittens and 100 white doves when she turned on the Christmas lights in London.

During the 46-minute episode, Mariah told Meghan - who has two children with her 38-year-old husband Prince Harry - that: "You give us diva moments sometimes, Meghan. Don't even act like...", with the Duchess responding: "What kind of diva moments do I give you?"

The duchess added at the end of the show: "It was all going swimmingly, I mean really well, until that moment happened, which I don't know about you but it stopped me in my tracks when she called me a diva.

"You couldn't see me, obviously, but I started to sweat a little bit. I started squirming in my chair in this quiet revolt. Like, 'Wait'. 'What? No. What? How could you? That's not true. Why would you say that?'

"My mind genuinely was just spinning with what nonsense she must have read or clicked on to make her say that."

The duchess said Mariah had quickly reassured her that she labelled her diva in a "chic" and "aspirational" way.

Chrissy Teigen shocked to realise she had abortion, not miscarriage

Chrissy Teigen says she lost her son Jack to abortion, not a miscarriage.

The 36-year-old television personality - who has Luna, six, and Miles, four, and is expecting another baby with husband John Legend - tragically lost a little boy halfway through her pregnancy in October 2020.

And in a new interview, the former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover star explained how shocked she was to realise it was an abortion she had, not a miscarriage to save her life for her baby that had "no chance" of survival.

Chrissy is quoted by The Hollywood Reporter as saying: "Two years ago when I was pregnant with Jack, John and my third child, I had to make a lot of difficult and heartbreaking decisions. It became very clear around halfway through that he would not survive, and that I wouldn't either without any medical intervention."

She continued: "Let's just call it what it was: It was an abortion.

"An abortion to save my life for a baby that had absolutely no chance. And to be honest, I never, ever put that together until, actually, a few months ago."

It was only after the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, which previously protected women's rights to an abortion, in June this year that her 'All of Me' hitmaker husband, 43, helped her realise she hadn't had a miscarriage.

She said: "I fell silent, feeling weird that I hadn't made sense of it that way.

"I told the world we had a miscarriage, the world agreed we had a miscarriage, all the headlines said it was a miscarriage. And I became really frustrated that I didn't, in the first place, say what it was, and I felt silly that it had taken me over a year to actually understand that we had had an abortion."

Timothee Chalamet says he feels 'older' than he is

Timothee Chalamet says he feels "older" than his years.

The 'Little Women' star believes he was "born with" the "perspective" of someone beyond his years as he becomes British Vogue's first solo male cover star in its 106 year history.

The 26-year-old actor told the Conde Nast fashion bible's October issue: "The ways I feel older than 26 I have always felt. It's not like I feel like I've had some mental breakthrough that has given me perspective. The perspective that feels 'old man', I feel like I was born with it."

Timothee shared the COVID-19 pandemic prompted him to finally "transition into an adulting mindset".

He said: "I should have been trying to get my adult feet under myself a little bit earlier than I did.

"I found myself having to really, you know, be honest with myself that where I've been able to get myself to in life was balls to the wall, like throwing everything at [it] at a young age that, by some miracle, got me to where I am. But to then transition to an adulting mindset."

The 'Don't Look Up' star shared his "delusion dream" he had a teenager before his life went "six million miles an hour".

Timothee said: "I had a delusional dream in my early teenage years to have, in my late teenage years, an acting career, and in my late teenage years, working on Homeland and starting to do theatre in New York, I felt like I reduced my goal to something more realistic, which was to work in theatre and hopefully make enough money doing either a TV show or something I could sustain myself [with]. And then it felt like every dream came true, exponentially. And then life is moving at six million miles per hour."

Timothee also spoke about his new role of Lee in 'Bones and All' - a film helmed by Luca Guadagnino that debuted at the Venice Film Festival - a cannibal in love with Maren, played by Taylor Russell.

He said: "With Lee, the illusion of control is based on feeling for no one and not even interacting with anyone - with Lee's affliction being cannibalism."
