Foothills favorite Mona's Danish Bakery reopened Tuesday after being closed for a couple months as owner Steve Hashemi recovered from "broken bones resulting from a bicycle accident descending Mount Lemmon May 26th," according to a sign posted on the window of the shop at 4777 E. Sunrise Drive.
Hashemi, who grew up in Denmark and earned his culinary degree there, opened the bakery 12 years ago. It's been at that location about five years.
