At the crossroads between the excitement of South America and the raw rock of the USA, between east and west, the city led by Howe Gelb (Giant Sand) and Joey Burns (Calexico) has become a draw for many musicians generating an abundance of new sounds.

This comedy from Mexico, which won five Ariel awards in Mexico and "Best First Feature" at the Berlin Film Festival, was directed by Alonso Ruizpalacios. 106 minutes.

Ruizpalacios was praised at the The Tribeca Film Festival as a bold new voice in Mexican cinema with his energetic and imaginative feature debut — a cool, retro, black–and–white portrait of Mexico City and of three restless young men searching for a purpose and identity in a city of millions. 

ALICE DOESN'T LIVE HERE ANYMORE

Presented by Tucson Festival of Films and Loft Film Fest.

Filmed in Tucson and directed by Martin Scorsese, this film with be shown at the Loft in a special 35mm screening. 112 minutes.

Starring Ellen Burstyn, Kris Kristofferson, Harvey Keitel, Diane Ladd, and Jodie Foster, the seminal film of a young widow in search of a better life was filmed in Tucson and southern Arizona (several locations, including downtown’s Chicago Music Store, the Monterey Village shopping center, and the iconic Longhorn Bar & Grill in Amado.
