Folk-rock duo Ryanhood will bring 20 new songs to the table when the two play their Seventh Annual Christmas Concert at the Rialto on Saturday.
In a rash of recent Twitter postings, the duo told their fans the new music, part of an upcoming recording project, has "lots of surprises" and is "all over the map stylistically."
The pair are releasing the material in one big blast, courtesy of some generous fans who've kicked in more than $5,000 to help pay for recording expenses.
The pair launched their homegrown recording project this fall with Twitter postings and a page on Kickstarter.com, a mechanism for artists worldwide to raise funding for their projects.
Ryanhood - lifelong best friends Ryan Green and Cameron Hood - proposed recording their next project in Tucson.

"What if we assembled a team of comrades who could help us make the whole record for less money than we spent on gas driving back and forth to LA?" they proposed on Kickstarter.
"We've been putting the finishing touches on a massive batch of music. And we're ready to take the next step and share this music with you."
The pair also raised money for the recording project by writing customized songs for fans. A recent posting on their website (www.ryanhood.com) said they wrote a song for a guy who proposed to his college girlfriend. Another betrothed couple commissioned the pair to write a song for the mother of a bride.
Ryanhood, with its crystalline harmonies and comic banter, has a loyal following in Tucson. In 2009, it won six Tucson Area Music Awards (Tammies).
