It's hard to say what the primary motivation for going to see a 2008 Ice Cube show would be.
The veteran Los Angeles rapper has long since lost his edge, which was left to die on the side of the road during the family comedy "Are We There Yet?"
True, it's hard to maintain such hard reputations as the years pass, but this was the same guy who sang anti-authority anthems as a founding member of gangsta-rap supergroup N.W.A. and had solo albums named "Death Certificate" and "Lethal Injection."
So when he comes to the Rialto on Tuesday, who will we see? The star of the goofy stoner flick "Friday?" Or the flannel-wearing thug from videos like "Check Yo Self?"
Meh. These questions won't matter once the opening notes of "It Was a Good Day" blare through the Rialto. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are $35.
