After having worked with Snoop Dogg, Too Short, Dr. Dre, Tupac Shakur and just about every hip-hop artist worth talking about in the '90s, DJ Quik will work the crowd at the Rialto Theatre a week from tonight.
Born and raised in Compton, Calif., Quik has released a half-dozen albums since his 1991 debut, "Quik Is the Name."
During the making of Snoop Dogg's latest album, "Ego Trippin'," Quik reportedly formed a production team called QDT with Snoop and producer Teddy Riley. It'll be interesting to see what comes of that. In the meantime, Quik brings his G-funk style to the Old Pueblo next Thursday night at 8. Tickets are $22 in advance.
