International Space Station (ISS) – 9:08-9:11 p.m. June 15, west to east along northern horizon; 8:53-8:58 p.m. June 17, west to east along northern horizon.

Hubble Space Telescope (HST) – Wednesday June 17^th 8:52-8:59 p.m. west to east along southern horizon.  Note the HST is going along the southern horizon, while the ISS is going along the northern horizon at the same time on Wednesday evening. The ISS will be brighter.  The satellite times may vary slightly from the predicted times depending on one’s location.

Astronomy Outreach with the Galileoscope is the topic of Friday's free meeting of the  Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association. Stephen Pompea is an observatory scientist at the National Optical Astronomy Observatory. The Galileoscope project started in preparation for the International Year of Astronomy 2009, with the goal that inexpensive telescope kits be available for students. He will talk about the effort to design and build high-quality telescope kits (www.galileoscope.org). More than 200,000 have been bought so far. The free event starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Steward Observatory Lecture Hall, room N210, at 933 N. Cherry Ave. on the UA campus.
