The A-10 Thunderbolt II — also known as the “Warthog” — launches the Pima Air & Space Museum’s Second Saturday speakers series.
Capt. Matt “Ace” Orlovsky, Davis-Monthan wing weapons officer, will talk Saturday about flying the aircraft. The series starts on the second Saturday of the month at 1:30 p.m. in the Pima Air & Space Museum’s Main Hangar and is included with paid admission to the museum, 6000 E. Valencia Road. Admission is $15.50; $12.25 for Pima County residents.
- Nov. 8: Ed Beshore, the deputy principle investigator for the OSIRIS-REx mission, will explain why asteroids are so interesting and what we can learn from them.
- Dec. 13, in celebration of the Wright Brothers’ accomplishment on Dec. 17, 1903, docent Dennis Hull will discuss their lives and how they achieved what no one else could at the time — sustained flight.
