What you can & can't bring to the Tucson Rodeo
Tucson Rodeo has instituted new rules for security reasons and retained other limitations.
No camera bags
No camera bags allowed unless they're clear and are smaller than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. Cameras are fine but this is what the Tucson Rodeo website says about photography:
"Tucson Rodeo will allow photography and digital image capture of the rodeo for private and personal use, as long as this activity does not interfere with the ability of other spectators to view the rodeo and the photographer does not occupy seats he or she has not purchased. Camera bags (unless clear), camera tripods, monopods, or single purpose video cameras are not permitted."

No fanny packs
Security doesn't want to slow the line making you remove your fanny pack and then searching it.

No purses
If you can't take a fanny pack into the arena, a purse will never make it through the gate.
Allowed - small clutch bags with shoulder straps or wrist straps
Clutch bags are allowed but they can be no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches.
No artificial noisemakers
Only ones allowed to bring in cowbells are steers, leave yours at home along with any other artificial noisemakers.
No laptop bags or cases unless ...
No laptop cases allowed unless the cases are clear and not larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches.

No luggage
Not sure why, but luggage is expressly prohibited. It could be from bitter experience or a pre-emptive effort to prevent anyone from moving in.

No backpacks
No backpacks allowed. You weren't planning on doing homework anyway, right? It's likely those with concessions contracts didn't approve anyway.

No binocular cases
If these cases aren't clear, they're prohibited but most binocular cases aren't clear.
Allowed - clear plastic bags
Clear plastic bags are allowed but they can't be larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. Remember if security can see it without searching, the lines through the entrances move faster.
No tinted bags
Restrictions are designed to make it easier for the security staff to see what is being brought into the arena. Clear bags are OK, but not these tinted bags, oversized totes, printed pattern plastic bags or mesh bags.
No umbrellas
Unlike the golf course, you can't bring your own shade with you to the rodeo. The arena will probably be crowded and umbrellas tend to block views. Photo by Mike Christy / Arizona Daily Star
Allowed - gallon clear plastic bags
If you don't have a big clear plastic tote, feel free to cram what you can into a clear gallon plastic bag with zip lock.
No coolers or cooler bags
For obvious reasons, coolers and cooler bags are prohibit. Let's face it, they sell beverages and goodies at the arena and don't want anything to cut into sales. This is a Coleman Stainless Steel. Photo by Ron Medvescek/Arizona Daily Star
