On Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, just a handful of peaceful protests stand outside of Portland's ICE facility. Tami Stolzen, from California, holds a sign in front of the building. She is in town visiting a friend but felt compelled to show solidarity with local protesters because she "doesn't want my tax money to be used to fight our own people ... the federal government has come here to create an enemy that isn't here."
