The image released by the Smithsonian National Museum of American History shows first lady Dolley Madison�s evening gown which goes on display at the museum on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, as part of a new exhibition titled "The First Ladies." The embroidered gown is a silk satin open robe hand-embroidered with flowers, butterflies, dragonflies, and phoenixes. It is typical of the style of the late 1810s.
