The Meet Rack

The sexually charged Meet Rack at 210 W. Drachman works overtime on its disturbing outrageousness. Owner Jim Anderson, who likes to refer to himself as God, used to give drink discounts to women who agreed to be physically branded with a red-hot likeness of his shaved head with long white goatee, until he got sued in 2001. To advertise the bar, he has chained up loyal female bartenders and customers and paraded them through the University of Arizona campus. He shows off a "sex room" at the bar, including a gynecologist's chair and a selection of props, that he says is mostly for inspiration for customers when they get home. After he lost his liquor license, his daughter's name was put on the deed. And as recently as June 2014, the bar was fined $750 for selling alcohol to undercover teen buyers.
