Margaret Moore (Loring) Zapor
born June 26, 1919, in Haileybury, Ontario, died August 28, 2014, in Tucson. She attended Brescia College in London, Ontario, before joining the U.S. Army during World War II. She moved to Tucson in 1947 and never left for long. There she met her husband, Henry Zapor, an Air Force veteran and electrical engineer from Hartford, Conn., and raised their four children on her own after his death in 1965. For decades she was active in Sacred Heart Parish, where she taught religion to more than a generation of preschoolers. She was long active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include her children, Leonard, of Tucson, Mary Anne, Redlands, Calif., Patricia, Takoma Park, MD. and Phyllis, Tucson; numerous nieces and nephews and the Copeland family, who know her as their Nana: Sally and Nathan Copeland, Tucson; Brenna, Roy and Liam Estrada, Hobbs, N.M., and Audrey Copeland, Chicago. Visitation to be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY with interment to follow at 11:00 a.m.
