Anita G. Carter (Russo)
65, loving wife, mother, sister and friend passed from this life on January 18, 2012 from complications in her fight against lung cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Jill Russo and nephew, Gene Messer. Survived by husband of 44 years, John H. Carter; sons, Nick and Dan; beloved sister, Jo Ann Lovett and many other caring relatives and friends. Anita was born on August 31, 1946 in Flushing, NY and moved to Tucson in 1956. She was a 1964 graduate of Catalina High School where she was very active in student activities, including cheerleading and gymnastics. Anita had many interests. She loved playing tennis, working out, hiking and going to the casino. She loved her cabin in Pinetop, AZ where she has many friends. Anita was employed by Bank of America in both Tucson and Showlow, AZ, and also enjoyed her work at The Gingerbread Cabin in Pinetop and Pima College in Tucson. Above all, Anita loved being with family and friends. Services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1800 N. Camino Pio Decimo.
