Jaime Gonzalez II Gone to soon
On January 6, 2014 Jaime died in his home in Germantown, MD, after a brief illness. Jaime was born in Los Angeles, CA on May 15, 1959 to Jaime Gonzalez and Bertha Renteria Gonzalez. At the age of 11 he lost his father, and relocated to Tucson. Shortly after arriving in Tucson he lost his mother who left him in the care of extended family in Tucson. He graduated from Cholla High School in 1975, and went on to earn a degree in engineering from the University of Arizona in 1981. He started his career at Bell Technical Operation Corp in Tucson where he worked several years. At the time of his death he was employed by the Department of Defense as an engineer at the Night Vision & Electronic Sensor Directorate at Ft. Belvoir in VA, where he had been employed for 30 years. He made the job of the American soldier safer and improved the effectiveness of their operations. Jaime received the Achievement Medal Award for Civilian Service (2007) for assisting a foreign Government with an urgent security issue. He received the Commanders Award for Civilian Service (2002) for developing a manual for soldiers engaged in Desert Shield/Storm. He was well traveled, and had a passion for rescuing dogs, photography, astronomy and electronic gadgets. Jaime is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne Schoch-Gonzalez of Germantown, MD; aunt Maria C. Renteria; cousins, Josefa Renteria, Maria E (Joe) Villa, Carmen Renteria, Jesse Renteria, Gilbert (Becky) Renteria, Dolores Renteria, Paul Renteria all of Tucson; and Gloria (Richard) Griffith of WA. Jaime was preceded in death by parents, aunts Dominga Renteria and Victoria Gonzalez; and uncle Jesus (Guadalupe ) Renteria. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Home, Germantown, MD.
