Susan F. Ambler
1/27/1941 - 8/5/2011
Sue was born January 27, 1941, in Philadelphia and recently enjoyed a wonderful golden wedding anniversary celebration with her husband, Tom. She and Tom lived and worked together in the Philadelphia area until 2001, when they moved to SaddleBrooke, where they made many lasting friendships. Sue helped to found the SaddleBrooke Genealogy Club, she was a Daughter of the American Revolution (DAR), a member of the Dove Mountain Church and the SaddleBrooke Christian Women's Club. She enthusiastically supported SaddleBrooke Community Outreach, working with Kids' Closet and helping with the annual Walkathon fundraising event. As members of the SaddleBrooke Off-Road Bunch, Sue rode "shotgun" on Tom's off-road excursions. A plant lover, Sue became devoted to the desert environment and completed the Arizona Cooperative Master Gardener program. Sue was well-known for her teddy bear collection, and she supported Good Bears of the World, an organization that provides teddy bears to children of all ages. For many years Sue also enjoyed breeding and showing German shepherd dogs. Sue leaves behind her loving husband, Thomas R. Ambler, Jr.; her two children, Susan L. Ambler and Thomas R. (Jen) Ambler III; two grandchildren, Jessica and Joseph Ambler and her sister, Judith (Tom) McGee. Join us as we celebrate Sue's life at VISTOSO FUNERAL HOME on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., 2285 E. Rancho Vistoso Blvd., Oro Valley, AZ, (520) 544-2285.
