GISLASON, Robert Warren "Bob"
age 91, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from complications of cancer. Born in a small town in Southern Minnesota in 1925, Bob joined the Navy at 17 to fight in WWII. He emerged a Naval officer and pilot four years later and continued to serve his country in the Naval Reserves for 16 years. In 1946 Bob was able to use the GI bill to attend Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota where he met the love of his life, Pat Cross. They married a year later and began a beautiful life together of 56 years until her death. A William Mitchell law school graduate, Bob practiced in St. Paul before founding an Edina law firm in 1973. He enjoyed a successful career of over 40 years as a top trial lawyer. Upon retirement, Bob and Pat left Minnesota and found happiness in Sun City, Rancho Vistoso (near Tucson) Arizona where they lived until their deaths. Bob is survived by daughter, Barbara J. Gislason (Minnesota); daughter, Nancy G. Cox and her daughters, Chelsea and Kaci Cox (all Oregon) and daughter, Joan E. (Jodi) Gislason and her son, Alexander D.J. Gislason (Tucson). Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Peggy in 1986 and his wife, Pat in 2004. The family would like to show its deep appreciation to the medical staff of Banner UMC and the warm care of the Casa de La Luz Hospice and Aventas Homecare team. A Memorial Service will be held in Bob's honor on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the VISTOSO FUNERAL HOME, Oro Valley, AZ at 3:00 p.m.
