Don Markham

Died Christmas Eve, December 24, 2011 in Tucson. Born June 4, 1936 in Roanoke, Virginia to Patrick Graham Markham and Clara Fulcher Markham, he grew up in Lynchburg, Virginia. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY, Class of 1959. He served 23 years in the U.S. Army. He served two tours in Vietnam receiving two Bronze Stars with Valor, one Bronze Star, an Air Medal, one Commendation Medal. He is survived by his wife, Kay of 52 years; his two sons, Andrew (Chris) and David (Holly); two beloved grandchildren, Kayla and Landon; brother, Patrick Graham (Jean) Markham; sister, Mary Lou (George) Fischer and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will he held on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Hollywood Cemetery, 412 South Cherry St., Richmond, VA. A Memorial reception will be held at a later time in Tucson.
