Daniel Davies Hill
lost his battle with melanoma on October 10, 2011 at the age of 70. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 9, 1941. He graduated from Upper Arlington High School, Columbus, Ohio in 1959. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and later attended the U.S. Naval Academy, graduating in 1965. He served as a naval aviator, retiring in 1983 as a Commander, USN. From 1983-1994 he worked as an engineer at Hughes Aircraft Company in Los Angeles. He has lived in Marana, Arizona since 2004. His passions included fly fishing, hiking, woodworking, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Fox Hill. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Marti; his children, Jennifer Rohr and John T. Hill; his father, John B. Hill; his sisters, Anne Russell, Stephanie McCue and Patti Purcel; his grandchildren, Caitlin, Campbell and Caroline Rohr. Other survivors include his extended family and his first wife, Cathryn Clancy Moyer, mother of his children. He will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery.
