YANEZ, Luis Alonso
was born April 7, 1961 and was suddenly taken from this life on August 10, 2017. Welcomed in death by father Alberto; grandparents, Benjamin and Nachita Yanez and in-laws Alberto and Rebecca Valenzuela. Celebrated in life by mother Tita Tarango; wife Siria Irene; children, Melissa (Jerry), Lynda (Brent), Matthew (Ariana), Kris (Kersten); grandchildren, Emma and Ethan Yap, Kennedy Linsangan-Yanez and Elena Pesqueira. Brother, Alberto (Letty); sisters, Lupita Yanez King (Joel), Marta Yanez Thompson (Jeff), Laura Yanez-Orosco (Frank). And the many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family members and friends. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Okinawa from 1979 to 1984, during the Iranian Hostage Crisis. His service was honored by receiving two Sea Service Ribbons and the Navy Expeditionary Medal. He was exceptionally proud of his children and grandchildren. His most cherished moments were spent watching his beloved L.A. Dodgers and Oakland Raiders. Our son, husband, father, tata, brother, tío and friend is greatly missed however will be remembered for his candor and loving heart which resonates within each of us. Services held at St. Augustine Cathedral. Visitation, Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. Interment at South Lawn Cemetery.
