Philip Hayward Jr.

Philip Hayward Jr., first born child of Philip L. Hayward (deceased) and Marie Hayward of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on October 6, 2013, while hospitalized at Tucson Medical Center Hospice (Peppi's House) after a short illness. Phil spent two years in the Army from January 1964 through January 1966 as a topographer, receiving an honorable discharge. On May 14, 1966, he married Portia M. Grinage of Philadelphia, PA. With this union one child was born, Renee Hampton (nee Hayward). In November 1976 Phil moved his family to Tucson, Arizona, where he spent 37 years of his life. Phil worked at numerous Engineering and Architectural Firms. His talent, skills and work ethic earned him respect and acclaim from his colleagues. Phil is survived by his daughter, Renee Hampton (nee Hayward); mother, Marie Hayward; siblings, Phyllis Alexander, Dolores Brown, ZoeAnn DeVaughn (deceased), Thomas Hayward; 16 nieces/nephews, 35 great-nieces/nephews, seven great-great-nieces/nephews; a total of five generations 61 in all. A host of family and friends will miss him. Memorial Service Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, Tucson, Arizona, 85710.
