Dr. Frank E. Funk

died Friday of heart complications. A World War II veteran, professor, administrator, volunteer and hobbyist, he had a long and interesting life. Frank was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Christy Funk, son Steven Funk, sisters Hazel, Doris and Grace, and ex-wife Dr. Ruth Anne Johnson. He is survived by sister, Marie; daughter, Karen Funk Blocher (husband John); stepdaughters, Janet Johnson (husband James Tremblay) and Dr. Amy Sisley; nieces and nephews. His service will be at St Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church, Tucson on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be at First Presbyterian in Wilmington, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Syracuse University or the Wilmington Railroad Museum. Local arrangements by HUDGEL'S SWAN FUNERAL HOME.
