DOWNER, Randolph Lee
74, passed away on September 28, 2016, after a lengthy illness due to the complications of multiple sclerosis, with his wife of 30 years, Julie, by his side. Randy was a true native Tucsonan, born and raised just three blocks from the University of Arizona, where he graduated and achieved his Masters in Business Administration, both in the same year. Upon graduation, he commenced his job search and was hired as the Director of Long-Range Planning for the San Francisco-based Crown-Zellerbach Company, but eventually returned to make investments in his hometown of Tucson. He is survived by wife, Julie; son, Randolph Downer, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Sherry Downer; granddaughter, Ava and sister, Patricia Van Metre. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Gladys Downer and sister, Betty Downer. Private memorials are planned by his family in Arizona and California. Arrangements by ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL.
