Robert (Bob) William Hurst
79, of Oro Valley, passed away July 13, 2011. He was born August 11, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio to George Robert and Grace Lorraine (Greer) Hurst. Bob graduated from Milton Union High School in 1949. He graduated from Bowling Green University in 1953 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. Bob was stationed at Fort Huachuca while in the U.S. Army Signal Corps from 1953-1955. Bob earned both his M.Ed in Counseling and Guidance and his Ed.S in Educational Administration at the University of Arizona. He was a teacher, counselor, and school administrator for 33 years in the Tucson Unified School District. Bob's hobby and passion was to paint pictures of the Southwest. Bob is survived by his loving family including: wife, Margaret; children, Matthew Hurst, Megan (Aaron) Winter, Robert Hurst, Jon (Joan) Hurst and Diana (Greg) Clark; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob's honor to Interfaith Community Services and Casa De La Luz Hospice. A Memorial Service will be held at Casas Adobes Congregational Church, 6801 N. Oracle Road, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday August 13, 2011. Arrangements under the care of VISTOSO FUNERAL HOME, Oro Valley.
