EVANS, Frances Louise (Merdink), 92, born January 26, 1923 in Stephen, Minnesota, passed away February 22, 2015. Preceded in death by husband, Daniel D. and son, Roger A. She served as a Navy WAVE during WWII. The family moved to Tucson in 1963 where, in addition to caring for her family, she was always a volunteer at numerous agencies. She was also an active member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, a past president of the UofA Faculty Women's Club and an avid fan of all University of Arizona sports. She loved reading, music, bridge and her many friends. In passing, she left sons, Robert Evans (Anni), Tom Evans (Terrie) and daughter, Susan Holstad; grandchildren, Mark Evans (Michelle), Luke Evans (Cindy), Heather Evans, Sara Grunstead (Jim), Rebecca Evans, Jason Holstad (Jana) and Dawna Erickson (Calvin); 11 great-grandchildren and a very large extended family. Fran adored her husband and family and was eternally grateful for them and the life with which the Lord had blessed her. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 28, 2015 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 7650 N. Paseo Del Norte.
