Rebecca Sloan Easley died peacefully under hospice care after a two year illness. She was the daughter of George and Margarette Sloan of Kokomo, IN. She is survived by her loving husband, George S. Easley, and three sons, Matthew (Sue), Brett (Susan) and Jonathan (Paula). She also leaves behind 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Rebecca taught middle school English and Remedial Reading for many years. She finished her career as an administrative assistant at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico. Her hobbies included singing in choral groups wherever she lived, including the University of Illinois at Champaign, the Bach Society of Minneapolis, the Los Alamos and Green Valley Choral Societies, and the University of Arizona Choral Society. She performed in a number of musicals and operas, including Fiddler on the Roof; The Magic Flute; My Fair Lady; Tales of Hoffman and Amahl and the Night Visitors. Two of Becky's proudest achievements were directing The Mikado in Los Alamos to packed houses, and singing a choral solo with the Minnesota Symphony Orchestra. There will be a Celebration of Life service for family later in June in Terre Haute, IN.
