Ronald Wright Thomas "Ron"
3/31/1948 12/28/2014
Ron, beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend and more, was born in Springfield, Missouri and passed away at home with family in Tucson on December 28th. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Barbara; son, Kai (Julia); daughter, Blaire (Russell); sister, Suzanna (Rick); five granddaughters and one grandson. Ron proudly served in the Marine Corps during the Viet Nam War and was patriotic and civic-mined, involved in the Tucson Sunrise Rotary Club and the Tucson Rodeo Committee for many years. Ron was an entrepreneur and he and Barb created and developed several businesses over their years together. Ron referred to himself as a "builder" and he was that: he had a successful General Contracting business, but more importantly we, who knew him well, understand that not only was he a builder of spaces and objects, he was a builder of relationships and memories, a supporter of family, friendships, and adventures. He created and built the life and family he wanted. He found his perfect partner in life who inspired and supported the planning, building and nurturing of the important things they shared. He was a consummate fisherman, hunter, diver, camper, explorer, adventurer, inventor, cowboy, a devoted and exemplary head of his family AND a true "fan" of living life to its fullest. We will miss him dearly. He has found his place with God; he will be with us in spirit as we are filled with wonderful memories of our times together. The family will have a private memorial gathering. In lieu of gifts or flowers, please make any gifts to woundedwarriorproject.org in Ron's memory.
