Joe E. Sledge

Joe Sledge was a man with a huge heart, a warm smile, and a hug for everyone. He will be greatly missed. He was born and raised in Mt. Vernon, IL where he was a Baptist Minister at multiple churches, led revivals, was Chaplain of the Wood Dale Police Department and loved riding his motorcycle. He also lived in CO and AZ, where he worked in sales. Joe is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 68 years, Virginia; his daughters, Sharon Norris and Marsha Miller; his nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Rincon Baptist Church, 7500 E. Golf Links Rd. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.
