M. Teresita (Terrie) Clark
Terrie was born in Hubbard, Ohio, on December 14, 1924, where she attended and eventually taught school and met the man she was to marry, Elbert H. (Bert) Clark, while he was in boot camp just prior to being sent to Europe in World War II. After their wedding on September 2, 1946, she promptly set about to form a family. Twelve years and six children later, in October 1958, the Clarks moved from New Jersey to Tucson, where Terrie's last three daughters were born. She worked through her retirement as store manager with a local firm, Hirsh's Shoes. During their retirement, Bert and Terrie foster parented over 60 children. Upon Bert's decease in 2005, Terrie moved to Fellowship Square, likewise in Tucson, where she made many good friends. Terrie passed on April 19, 2015 shortly after her 90th birthday. She is survived by her brother, William (Catherine); her nine children, Margaret (Manuel), Bert, Elizabeth, Norman (Sharon), William, Helen (Frank), Florence (Mark), Virginia and Donna; twelve grandchildren and twelve-great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at St. Pius Church, 1800 N. Camino Pío Décimo (corner of Pima St.) at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory may be made to: Nyame Adom Foundation of America (NAFofA), P.O. Box 17627, Tucson AZ 85731 (www.nafofa.org) or the Community Foodbank.
